The peeps at Camping Le Moulin de Cantizac reckon this is the perfect place to explore the Séné and Morbihan area, and we Pitchup.com peeps reckon they're right. This amicable Breton base is just two minutes from Port de Plaisance and a short drive from the markets, restaurants, old harbour and nightlife of Vannes; the pedals and strolls of the Séné Nature Park are nearby too. Those sticking around on site – an option also recommended – will find an indoor heated pool open for the full season, alongside a seasonal outdoor pool and paddling pool with water toys, a pétanque court, a playground, a trampoline and a games room with ping pong and football tables. Extra facilities are available for guests in high season, such as entertainment and activities, a kids' club, a TV room and a takeaway service.

Route directions

By car: Take the RN165 to Vannes, take exit signposted Séné and continue in this direction. The campsite is at the entrance of the village. By train: TGV to Vannes, then bus to Cantizac (0.5km from the campsite). By plane: Vannes Airport (15km).

Local attractions

The beach is about two and a half kilometres from Camping Le Moulin de Cantizac and the magnifique Morbihan Gulf about five kilometres from the town of Séné. The island of L’île aux Moines, the second biggest in the Gulf of Morbihan, is about six kilometres from Séné. Reach L’île aux Moines by ferry from Vannes, but do plan some time in town first as Morbihan's capital is a beaut little place with quite a bit to see. Wandering the harbour to Conleau and going into the Old Town through the medieval gate are two of our top picks, and we also recommend Vannes Cathedral, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Archaeology. A bit further away, have a potter around the city of Auray (20km), or get down with it at the famous alignments and standing stones of Carnac (35km). Hiking, cycling, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, jetskiing, tennis, sailing, and golfing are all available locally.
