  • Family-friendly site between Bordeaux, Toulouse and the Lot
  • A 15-minute drive from the Aveyron Gorges
  • Heated pool, playground, snack bar, takeaway, bread and pastries sales
Right between Bordeaux, Toulouse and the Lot, and on the roads to Quercy, Albigeois and Rouergue: if you reckon there's a heap to see and do around Camping Le Clos de la Lère, you'd verily reckon right. And equally fably, it's also just 15 minutes from the fab Aveyron Gorges for paragliding and zipwiring – and can organise horse riding, kayaking and climbing expeditions in its reception, and is a short distance from handsome hiking and cycling trails (and if you don't have your own wheels, you can hire a bike in reception). Le Clos de la Lère is a family-friendly site, with plenty to do for the many types of groups it welcomes, from clubs and groups to families and couples. Among its many well-kept facilities are a pool surrounded by a solarium and kitted out with deckchairs; a pétanque court; a play area with a trampoline, and a bar with table football and ping pong. Regular theme evenings and sport events are held during the summer holidays. Amenities are covered with two blocks with free hot showers, toilets and washing-up corners; a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer, and a motorhome service point. Free wifi is available throughout the site. Major supermarkets are in Puylaroque and Septfonds five kilometres away.

Local attractions

To the gorges… Camping Le Clos de la Lère is 15 minutes from the vast Aveyron Gorges, for days rambling, wildlife watching, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, pot holing and hang gliding… or you could just ramble around its spectacular landscapes, medieval villages and highlights like Montricoux with the Marcel-Lenoir Museum and St Antonin Noble Val with the Grotte du Bosc. Also 15 minutes away is the commune of Saint Antonin Noble Val, a medieval village with twelfth century buildings around its Place de la Halle, a medieval market hall, and the oldest building in France in is town hall. It's a beaut and a must: go see. Another must is nearby Cordes sur Ciel, the well-preserved medieval village on a hill surrounded by the countryside of the Midi-Pyrénées and with timber-framed buildings, steep cobbled streets (wear sensible shoes, s'il vous plait), thirteenth and fourteenth century houses, medieval gateways and a good cluster of artisan shops. An equestrian centre and the ParcAventure theme park are also a short distance away.
