  • Wooden lake view lodges near the Tarn river
  • Swimming lake with waterslide and beach
  • Pool area, bar with pool table, games room with arcades and more
Secluded self-catering lodges with views across a lake, grounds well set up for kids of all ages and a mere 20-minute stroll to the shops and restaurants around Monclar-de-Quercy’s core – sounds like a safe bet for a laid-back family holiday in the Tarn-et-Garonne. Although much time will probably be spent around the lake – swimming, lazing at its beach and zipping down the looped waterslide – it's a mere fraction of what's on offer at this splendidly kitted out site. Guests at Monclar-de-Quercy’s Les Hameaux des Lacs have access as well to a covered pool area (with retractable roof for warm days) and a roomy solarium alongside; outdoor ping pong, grass and tarmac tennis courts and pétanque, plus a playground and a sandy multisports court for the kids. A games room with table football and arcade games is around for leisure indoors, as is a pool table at the on-site bar. Daytime and evening entertainment like theme evenings and barbecue nights run regularly in high season too; off site, you can hire a car or a bike locally if you want to get out and explore your surrounds. There’s no restaurant on site as the lodges are well set up for self-catered stays, but it’s a short stroll to the restaurants, grocery stores and supermarkets that lie around the local town.

Local attractions

In the middle of the Quercy and Rourgue areas, Les Hameaux des Lacs’s local town of Monclar-de-Quercy is set between Montauban to the east, Albi to the west and Toulouse to the south, and between them share attractions like canalside walks and boating trips, museums, galleries and wine tours among piles of other topping attractions. Also around the locale are lots of pretty walks, and over in Montauban there are 18 trails to tramp, each with a different theme, from archaeology on the Hameau de Cos path to nature along the Corbarieu slopes: pick up info on all from the town’s tourist office. The vast Gorges de l'Aveyron are around an hour and 10 minutes’ drive away, for days upon days of hiking, nature spotting, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, climbing, caving and hang gliding – just about anything your sport-seeking self desires.
