Camping L'Eden is a fun family site in north-east France's Pays de la Loire region, three kilometres from the century-old upmarket seaside resort of La Baule-Escoublac on the Atlantic coast and a short drive from the famed salt marshes and medieval fortifications of Guérande. Facilities include a pool complex with a paddling pool and a giant waterslide, an outdoor play area, a café, a bar, a grocery store, a restaurant serving local cuisine and evening entertainment in the form of themed menu evenings, bingo nights, karaoke, pétanque tournaments and quizzes. Wifi is available at an extra charge. There are heaps of visitor attractions within easy reach, such as a monkey park, a fairground with more than 40 rides, and an aquarium, and boat and carriage rides through Brière Natural Regional Park.

Liked: We are an 8m+ Motorhome towing a car trailer which posed no problem at this site. The staff were all very friendly, the indoor swimming pool was heated and perfect for our off session visit in September and the toilet and shower facilities were spotless.

Liked: Friendly and helpful reception staff. Toilet paper, sinks and hand dryer provided in nearest toilet block. Warmish indoor pool and an outdoor slide which was absolutely loved by the kids (though the water in it was really cold).

Disliked: Central toilet blocks and those near the pool didn't have sinks or dryers co-located with the toilets. Toilet block near our pitch has a partial glass roof which means the showers and toilets are not private when its dark. The evening 'party' was aimed at teens and young adults (ie. not for kids or adults)- no drinks for kids available other than coke and sugary soda, no other drink than a homemade punch. We were really looking forward to it but were sorely disappointed.

Liked: Le côté familial du camping , qui offre un jolie service mais qui n'est pas non plus une usine.

Disliked: Arriver en fin de saison , dommage les animations c'était essoufflé, souvent pas assez de participants, animations annulée.

Liked: Friendly reception. Helpful and spoke English (I don’t speak French) Store on site had everything I needed and was open. Site was clean and quiet but it was early summer. Will return to use the pool with family next time as it’s looks great.

Local attractions

The site is two kilometres from the nine-kilometre beach at La Baule-Escoublac, where there are lots of beach clubs around the bay that operate during high season. You can also go horse riding and pony trekking along the beach, and there's a multi-activity park, ParcOfolies, in the grounds of La Baule Castle. Next door you've got Brière Regional Natural Park, where boat trips around the park's waterways depart from several ports including Saint-Lyphard and Saint-André-des-Eaux. Explore the fortifications and narrow streets that network the medieval town of Guérande, where the famous fleur de sel sea salt is harvested, or visit Croisic Océarium, 17 kilometres from Camping L'Eden, which houses 4,000 fish, 25 sharks, turtles, penguins and other sea creatures. You'll also find a monkey park in Guérande, as well as fairground attractions at Luna Park. Wander around the shipyards and aircraft factory of Saint-Nazaire, or visit the Saint-Nazaire Ecomuseum, which lies on the banks of the Loire estuary and traces the historic, industrial and maritime heritage of Saint-Nazaire. Nantes is less than an hour's drive away.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
