If your hols involve living in fear of the phrase ‘I’m bored’, consider a stay at Camping La Prairie. An enormous list of activities awaits at this family site outside Saint-Jean-de-Monts, with plenty to sate even the busiest of busy bees. Ready for a whirlwind tour? Start with the multisports pitch, the pétanque court and the outdoor fitness area. Bouncy kids can leap about on the trampoline or hit the playground; meanwhile, those who’ve outgrown such pursuits can head into the games room for various pursuits. More? How about two pools – one indoor and one outdoor for swims whatever the weather? Each pool has a paddling pool, while the outdoor one has a waterslide and the indoor one a hot tub. Still more? You got it. Summer days mean kids’ activities on site – crafts, treasure hunts, games and so forth. Grownups needn’t feel left out though; later in the day all comers are invited to join together for karaoke, pool parties and live music. All this is before you’ve even left the site, of course. When you do venture out, further frolics lie not far beyond the boundaries. It’ll only take you 10 minutes to walk down the wooded path to the beach, or five minutes to drive into the resort for watersports and other antics. For food, easy options are to mosey over to the site’s snack bar for light meals, ice creams and drinks, or pick up supplies at the shop and head to the communal barbecue. If you’re in need of full meals cooked by someone else, there are a couple of restaurants within a few minutes’ walk.

Liked: Camping familial très agréable avec une équipe au TOP. Le responsable nous a accompagné à notre emplacement (ce qui est très rare ailleurs)et il même aidé à placer la caravane sur l'emplacement .Les blocs anitaires sont toujours propres.

Liked: Tout était parfait propre, de belles proposition aquatique.

Disliked: Je mets un bémol car nous avons eu l'impression de dormir au milieu de l'autoroute tellement c'était bruyant. C'est vraiment dommage, mais vous n'allez pas déplacer la route. En mobilhome cela doit-être différent.

Liked: Faratine très professionnelle, la ♀️ blonde au snack aussi très amicale, Et une jeune amicale pour le pain de mon compagnon Philippe. Ainsi que le personnel de l' accueil Les personnes qui font le ménage ont beaucoup de travail avec les enfants qui mettent le souk dans les WC et douches... Nous sommes venus en couple sans enfants Et Bienveillants

Disliked: Ceux qui étaient en ⛺️ N°26 Alcooliques+++++, le patron les trouvaient gentils...Toute la journée musique forte et on ne leur dit rien....sur 7 jours on à dormi 4 jours....et une nuit je demande à dormir et bien plus tard l' 1 d' eux, tape fort dans la porte du Camping-car et mots d' oiseaux , Le patron n' à pas aimé qu' on lui dise la vérité et n' à rien fait. Le lendemain à la fin de la journée le 26/8, Je rentre là où il y à les douches, une disaine d' enfants qui hurlent, Et se fichent de moi... J' essaie de les faire partir et là encore plus fort... Je sors de la douche que je n' ai pas encore faite.... Je leur demande de partir et là je suis dépassée, J' étais bras ballants, Et je ne savais plus quoi faire.... Et là un mot est sorti de ma bouche, Et je suis rentrée dans la douche... Et quelques minutes après, le même homme tape très fort sur la porte, Et des mots très blessants "Sors de là je vais t' enlever toutes tes dents, je vais te faire des balafres " J' avais très 😱 😨 😱 Je croyais que j' allais mourir là, Sa femme s' est mise le long de la porte, Pour qu' il ne casse pas la 🚪... La dame à demandé à ceux qui étaient près d' aller chercher le Patron Il n' est pas venu, Seulement, Faratine et la jeune blonde du Snack. Sont venues à mon secours. Je suis sortie en état de choc.... J' ai demandé qu' on aille chercher Philippe ....Il est venu et m' à soutenue. Arrivée au N°26 le gars veut recommencer et hurle et dit Qu' il va taper mon compagnon, Mais il ne pouvait pas le faire, car il est grand et gentil, Mais c' est gens là, paraît t' ils tombent facilement avec tout leur alcool.... On est partis le lendemain, Et heureuse de partir car le Patron ne nous à pas regardés, En tout les cas je ne veux plus jamais retourner dans ce camping.... J' ai besoin de calme et de Joie mais pas ce qui s' est passé.... Il n' y à pas de vigile pour la nuit.... Pas de personnes pour la piscine... Alors que les enfants poussent les adultes, Les parents s' en fichent.... Pourquoi 4 🌟 🌟🌟🌟? Les adultes vont dans le toboggan et descendent la tête la 1ere et tapent la tête des enfants....etc....

Liked: The staff were pleasant and helpful and understood why we didnt want to stay. Photographs can be deceiving and so we made a bad choice of location for us.

Disliked: Too cramped, too noisy, children everywhere. A well maintained site with plenty to do, if you want this sort of holiday.

Local attractions

If you’d like to pedal your way around, hire bikes from the site (or bring your own, of course) and cycle for a few minutes to join the Vélodyssée cycle route. The full 1200km might be a bit of a stretch, but small chunks make a handy way to see some of this gorgeous coastline. First port of call, however you travel, is the small resort of Saint-Jean-de-Monts (it’ll take you around half an hour to walk, five minutes in the car or 10 minutes to bike it). Eight kilometres of sandy beach provide plenty of space for sunbathing, paddling, games and watersports galore. Further along the coast, half an hour’s drive from the site takes you to Saint Gilles Croix de Vie for boat trips to Île d’Yeu, a gorgeous little island with some great walks and bike rides around its moors, marshes and dunes. Head north for 20 minutes or so in the car and you’ll come to the causeway to Noirmoutier island, another fab place to explore by car or on a bike.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
