  • On the shores of Lago di Viverone, 50 kilometres from Turin
  • Windsurfing, wakeboarding, waterskiing and fishing on the lake
  • Private beach, boathouse and small marina
What a swell lakeside site. Settled on the shore of Lago di Viverone, Campeggio Internazionale del Sole is excellently appointed for travellers seeking watery sports of all sorts, with fishing, waterskiing and windsurfing available without stirring from the grounds. Also handily, this site’s location is 50 kilometres from Turin and has easy access to several major motorways, making it a splendid spot for a stopover on your way through northern Italy. Around the immediate vicinity you can play rounds of golf or tennis sets, explore the area on horseback, or wander around medieval villages to delve into the local history. The accommodation areas are a short stroll away from the park’s own private lake beach, and the site is very well set up for bods who like to boat, with access to a boathouse and a small jetty, as well as a spacious marina with a dock kitted out with a heavy-duty boat winch. Non-boaty bods will also find lots to keep them occupied during leisure days on site, including a football pitch for friendly kickabouts, ping pong tables, a beach volleyball court, and a pétanque court for times when a slower game pace is required. On summer weekends, sit back with a glass of local wine or a cold beer and be serenaded at the park’s melodic music evenings among its comfy and cosy bar. The site’s food shop will see you sorted if you're running low on supplies.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Local attractions

The clear waters of Lago di Viverone are particularly popular for fishing due to their plentiful stocks of prized fishy specimens such as perch, whitefish and pike. If you're an ornithologist rather than an angler, amble around the lake instead to spot feathered creatures from ducks and mallards to coots, grebes and gulls. Also on the water, plenty of watersports options are at one’s daily disposal, including wakeboarding, waterskiing and windsurfing. Land fans can stroll along lakeside walks, or check out the nearby sports facilities for something slightly more up tempo: tennis, a miniature golf course, a go-karting track and horse riding are all nearby. And for those who are into proper putting, several full-size golf courses with spectacular mountain views are also within 15 kilometres. If you fancy a spot of history and local culture, splendid spots to visit in the area include the Castello di Roppolo, the 12th-century Cella di San Michele Benedictine monastery, the church and convent of San Sebastian in Biella, and the medieval village of Ricetto di Candelo, all within around 20 kilometres.
