  • In the Laghi di Avigliana Nature Park, 9km from Sacra di San Michele
  • A 35-minute drive from Turin
  • Restaurant, pool, play area and bar
You'll find a mega friendly team at Camping Avigliana Lacs near the town of Avigliana in the Piedmont region – and a mega splendid setting too, as the site is greenly set in the Laghi di Avigliana Nature Park and is 35 minutes from the shops and restaurants of regional capital Turin. Have a stay here to delve into the best of Piedmont culture and cuisine, stop off on the way to southern Italy or France, or just settle down and chill among the peace and quiet… They're a friendly and helpful bunch in the site restaurant too, ready to sizzle up all manner of traditional and tasty Piedmont recipes: perhaps try the bagna càuda, just the ticket in which to dip a handful of porcini mushrooms? The restaurant – and bar – are open all year. Camping Avigliana Lacs has a pool, open from June to September, three modern toilet and shower blocks, a play area and free wifi. Bike hire is available. The site has been under new management since March 2019.

Local attractions

The medieval city centre of Avigliana is two kilometres from the site and easily accessible by foot or pedal. Also close by is the stunning spot of the Sacra di San Michele, the 10th-century abbey on the top of Mount Pirchiriano that's one of the best known sights of the Piedmont region: go see. Next up should be Turin, another stunning spot and filled with sights to see and culture to soak up as well as Piedmont cuisine and wines to sample/guzzle. Among its many splendid sights and hangouts are the squares of Vittorio Veneto, Castello and San Carlo; the city's many galleries including San Federico and Subalpina; the Museo Egizio Egyptian museum, and botanic gardens and Valentino Park, accessible via a scenic stroll by the Po river. More splendid sights are around the province to keep sightseers busy for weeks: among the top picks are the cobbled streets of truffle town Alba, and the vineyards between Benevello and Castiglione Tinella, famed for their Barolo reds.

Liked: Niks

Disliked: One. Big. Shithole. Filthy showers, filthy toilets, unfriendly owner, one big mess everywhere. Showers and toilets many broken parts, many leaks and everything very mouldy. No working locks on showers, water is coming up from toiletfloors. Website is a big scam. Never again...

Liked: There is nothing about this site that is good.

Disliked: The shower block had no working lights so we did not use. It has become a home to lots of daddy long legs. The ladies toilets the door didn’t lock and it only had a handle on the inside. The other toilet block water was seeping up through the floor. There is NO swimming pool The pictures were clearly taken 20yrs ago or have been photoshopped as the site is very run down and looks old and unloved. Had we not just driven 6 hrs we would not have stayed but we had 2 very upset children that were tired and just wanted to go for a swim due to the heat.

Liked: Chilled vibe near the lake

Disliked: Basic toilet facilities where doors didn’t lock (but we’ve stayed in worse). If you want a swim, it’s a bit of a walk to the lake where you can actually access swimming

Liked: Nice location between 2 lakes and Avigliana which has a lovely little Centro Storico. Can't see much of lake due to undergrowth needing cut back but you could just see it. We had a delicious lunch in Brodo di Guiggliole. Fantastic views from the ruined Castello. We ate dinner in the campsite restaurant one night hosted by the campsite owner his dad and brother I think. Nice friendly bunch and food was fine. Other campers were friendly too.

Disliked: Toilets and showers not the best. They do get cleaned I believe but ladies only have one loo as door broken on the other. The 2 sinks either spray out all over your clothes or pour out over your feet. Sense of humour required.

Liked: Absolutely nothing 🙈

Disliked: Toilets & showers were filthy , pictures on pitchup must of been photoshopped , electric hook up poles had live wires exposed & totally dangerous (with reverse polarity) The place is totally rundown & needs closing down Everything from the moment I drove through the gate ! If I hadn’t just driven 650 miles I’d of simply turned round & parked down the road

Liked: Location is fabulous between 2 lakes and near to the lovely city of avigliano. Nice walks around. We had an excellent meal on the onsite restaurant and there was a very friendly atmosphere between campers and the campsite and restaurant owner. Good sized pitches. Overall the facilities need a bit more TLC - doors not closing on loos, no toilet in the shower block, just a bit grubby - which was sad because it could be amazing!

Disliked: I'm sure it said there was a pool when we booked. There isn't!
