Might you like Prosecco? And spectacular scenery? And sunbathing by the side of an Italian pool? Have all three (combined is best) at friendly Camping Al Lago di Lago, well set to fully investigate the vineyards, wine routes and restaurants of the Prosecco wine region. (Souvenirs galore must be hauled back, natch.) Another topping feature of the site is its lakeside location, on the shores of Lake Lago in the Venetian province of Treviso and only a few steps/running dive from the water. Dips can also be had at the big outdoor pool on site, which is surrounded by a solarium for those Prosecco-soaked basks, a playground to let the kids loose at, and a snack bar with roomy terrace overlooking the lake. Other facilities include miniature golf and a picnic area, under the shade of leafy trees. The toilet blocks are set near the accommodation area and hot water for showers is included in the pitch price.

Local attractions

This is a good area for active types, whether you want to go mountain biking among the peaks or paraglide over them. Several hiking trails are around the hills including routes through sites related to World War I. And then there's the Prosecco wine region… Camping Al Lago di Lago is right inside it for easy access to the area's vineyards: take an organised wine tour to see the most of them, or wander around it at your own pace and sampling local cuisine along the way. The Treviso province capital Treviso city is a short drive from the site and was possibly the original production area of Prosecco: this claim should of course be thoroughly investigated in between sightseeing among the city's medieval buildings, cathedral, piazzas and parks and gardens. Around the area, Venice, Padova, Vicenza and Bassano are within driving distance for day trips.
