Italian sands of over 15 kilometres – and accessed 100 metres from your Italian site: Venice's Camping Klaus has some serious sandy clout. (And more: it's an easy bus or ferry ride to the ancient centre of Venice, and from there to the lagoony islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.) Camping Klaus is in the quiet and family-friendly seaside resort of Cavallino, that of the 15-kilometre beach, and is surrounded by maritime pines to give shade from the summer heat – and possibly provide a patch for a few zzzzzs after lunch? Facilities include a launderette, a washing-up area and a modern amenities block with free hot showers. Klaus is also only four kilometres from the busy town, bars, restaurants and clubs of Jesolo, but if you want to stay on site after an active day's sightseeing, the restaurant serves a good variety of dishes including local specialties, Mediterranean options and pizza. A butcher's, supermarket and off-licence are within 300 metres of the site.

Liked: Takový maličký kemp, ale všechno v pořádku. Kempovací místa jsou veliká, je tam opravdu klid. Sociální zařízení je trochu starší, ale všechno je krásně čisté, takže za mě naprosto v pořádku. Češka na recepci, takže se domluví opravdu všichni. Kousek od pláže, ta je opravdu super. Po cestě na pláž je úžasná restaurace, kde skvěle vaří, ceny nejsou taky šílené a jako největší bonus - vše v češtině (jídelní lístek, i pán mluví česky). V okolí je možné i nakoupit, kousek je obchůdek. Pravděpodobně díky paní na recepci je kemp opravdu plný Čechů, zatímco ve vedlejším kempu Silva Čechy moc nepotkáte.

Disliked: Jediné mínus bych napsala - není mýdlo na záchodech, ale to je takový detail.

Liked: Nette Aufnahme beim Empfang. Übersichtlicher Campingplatz. Super Stellplätze. Sanitäranlagen waren Sauber.

Disliked: Bei der Ankunft könnte gezeigt werden wo es zum Strand geht, Sanitäranlagen, Müllentsorgung etc. Das hat mir etwas gefehlt.

Local attractions

Cavallino is the second most popular seaside resort in Italy, which has probably something to do with those 15 kilometres of sand… and there'd be no judgement at all if you decided to spend all your Camping Klaus hol on this very stretch. If you do manage to peel yourself off your sun towel, have a jaunt to Jesolo next. The place is famed for its glittery nightlife, its busy bars and clubs, its restaurants, shops and long promenade: if parents have parked the kids on the grandparents (do bring them on hol), this is the place to be. When you're back on track with the kids, the Aqualandia waterpark is a short drive away, or you could take to two wheels and explore the connected cycling routes of Cavallino and its coast. You can/must also get a ferry to Venice and its main islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello; Verona, Padua, the Brenta Riviera and Treviso are all within a couple of hours' drive.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs are required to wear a muzzle.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
