Families, couples, outdoorsy sorts, early birds and night owls, come and get sorted for a Verona stay at Camping Village San Benedetto, close to the town of Peschiera del Garda, a few minutes away from a dog-friendly sandy beach and near the vast waters of Lake Garda, Italy's biggest lake. The site is well set up to cover all you might fancy, with two pools surrounded by gardens; a bar and restaurant; a playground; a pétanque court; a kids' club; sports facilities and spacious grass pitches, partially shaded and supplied with electricity. It's a dog-friendly place and dogs are allowed all around the site apart from the pool area. Also sorted are new shower and toilet blocks with free hot water, and a free motorhome service point for guests' use. Camping Village San Benedetto's location near Lake Garda has it perfectly placed for outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, climbing, horse riding and hang gliding as well as watersports such as canoeing, surfing and paddleboarding. One topping option in the area is a trip to Malcesine on Lake Garda's eastern shore, with its 13th-century castle Castello Scaligero and museum on the nature and wildlife of the lake.
