Casa Lena lies in Curahuasi, a little town in the Andes and an ideal stopover on route to Macchu Pichu. Cuzco is in fact, only 125 kilometres away. The area offers innumerable possibilities to enjoy the great outdoors, from lake swimming and fishing, to horseriding and hiking. Or else, you can simply lay in one of the on-site hammocks and enjoy the superb views. The campsite is equipped with modern and comfortable facilities, such as a toilet block with free hot showers, a launderette and a shop where you can buy staples. Free wifi is available. If you are curious, you can help take care of the farm, by feeding the animals of the hacienda and watering the vegetables and fruit growing in the garden. In 2012, the owners Stefanie and Gilder, a Belgian-Peruvian couple, founded the NGO Oye Lena, an educational project for young children. Every morning, volunteers take part in special educational activities for children of deprived backgrounds. Supporting Casa Lena means supporting the children.
