Everyone off to Porto: Portugal's second biggest city is a place of world-famed wines, gorgeous port (of course), the bars and restaurants of the Ribeira area, and old, old sites like the Palácio da Bolsa. To stay within simple reach of Porto while still avoiding big-city prices, have a break at Parque Orbitur Angeiras, 16 kilometres north of town. It's a peaceful and green Porto spot, surrounded by trees and bushes and opposite the beach in the fishing village of Angeiras. A bus stop is close to the site. Spectacular Portuguese sands, the dunes of Mindelo and the vineyards of the Douro Valley are all easy to get to from here; on site, there's a pool and a paddling pool, a tennis court, a multisports pitch, a playground and a TV room. A mini market is also to hand, but you'll probably prefer to have bites to eat at the restaurant, popular with Angeiras locals. Amenities include washrooms with showers, toilets and disabled facilities.

Liked: Great site with lovely hosts and excellent facilities. Good transport by bus (50mins) and metro (10mins) to Porto. 5mins to great beaches and walks along the coast.

Disliked: Dog barked constantly (across from the supermarket) from early morning to late at night. On speaking to a host we were advised we could move to a different spot on the site. This is not only stressful to us but also stressful to the dog as we suspect it's being left alone all day. We both have a hearing impairment and it's very difficult when there is constant noise to listen and concentrate.

Liked: Location ok, not too far to the beach

Disliked: Reception staff unfriendly. Most pitches unusable due to stones, trees or just overgrown. Overcharged me as ignored my pitchup booking and deposit paid. Trying to get refund. As of now, they are ignoring my emails

Liked: Liegt nahe bei Porto und nicht weit vom Meer . Die Sanitäranlagen werden intensiv geputzt . Restaurant am Platz

Disliked: Der Platz ist in die Jahre gekommen . Es wird wohl in die Stellplätze nichts mehr investiert . Für meine Begriffe zu teuer .

Disliked: L'emplacement pour les tentes se situe dans une zone très humide et placée à l'écart des lieux de vie. Le terrain pour les tentes est vraiment mal placé, en terrain en pente, mal entretenu, et pas vraiment organisé. Les parcelles ne sont pas vraiment délimitée. C'est l'anarchie. La propreté des sanitaires laisse à désirer. L'eau chaude est capricieuse.

Local attractions

Several beaches are close by, including Angeiras beach opposite the site, Labruge beach two kilometres north and São Paio beach within three and a half kilometres in the same direction. The dunes of Mindelo are also worth their eight-kilometre trip for a flit around their ornithological reserve. Take the bus from outside the site to reach Porto in about an hour, to mooch around its many attractions including the Palácio da Bolsa, the Fundação de Serralves and the historic Ribeira area, with its many bars dishing up local cuisine. The city's most famed of course for its port wine (the clue is in the name), so wander around the plentiful port cellars too, to see how it's all made and to sample the many different and mighty tasty varieties. If you now have a thirst for learning more about Portugal's wine, take a day trip to the Douro Valley to visit the vineyards there surrounded by their spectacular scenery. Other destinations for day trips include the lively city of Braga and its 12th-century cathedral, and Guimarães, to take a cable car ride over the historic streets. Both cities are around 50 kilometres away.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Modifications are subject to a €10.00 (£8.61) fee.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
