  • Quiet site minutes away from Zaragoza city centre
  • Between the ports of Santander/Bilbao and Costa Brava beaches
  • Pools, playground, restaurant, café and sports areas
Combine Spanish city and Spanish seaside at Aragon's Camping Ciudad de Zaragoza, only four kilometres from the bar and food culture of the splendid old city of Zaragoza and halfway between both the ports of Santander and Bilbao and the beaches of Costa Brava. Although it's in an eminently central location to everything you could fancy in the Zaragoza province, Ciudad de Zaragoza is a quiet site and set up for those who want to explore the region but have a peaceful base to come tiredly back to of an evening. It has an eminently excellent playground for kids, swimming and paddling pools, a communal barbecue area and a multisports area for Spanish racket game pelota, tennis, football and basketball. Local meals are dished up at the site restaurant, and there's also a café and a shop. The modern amenities include loo blocks with good facilities for disabled visitors, showers, changing rooms, toilets, sinks and washing machines. Camping Ciudad de Zaragoza has free wifi throughout.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Clean spacious well-maintained site

Disliked: Electricity distribution boxes inter-linked in groups as a result of which one group of four kept tripping out, which took staff some time to resolve. Wifi only worked near reception

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Good sized plots, excellent shower/toilet facilities and good access to city centre by local bus service. Staff were very friendly and all spoke good English. Restaurant closed in winter, sadly, so we didn’t get to see it; but the whole camping had the feel of being quite new. Certainly impressive for a municipal!

Disliked: No real separation between plots. Not a problem for a short stay, but might be more of an issue for longer ones.

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Good sized pitches. Good showers, toilets, washing up and laundry facilities. Easy access to Zaragoza by a bus. Supermarket/ bakery nearby.

Disliked: Big, open campsite, rather impersonal and soulless. Very poor wi-fi. Quite expensive.

Local attractions

Zaragoza is a splendidly scenic and cultural Spanish city, famed in particular for its UNESCO World Heritage Site buildings such as the Basílica del Pilar, La Seo Cathedral and the Aljafería Palace, its food, its folklore and the Fiestas del Pilar, running for nine days every October and dating back to the fifteenth century. Another much-visited option in the city is the site of Expo 2008, now the site of the Luis Buñuel Metropolitan Water Park, with water gardens, river beach, golf course, leisure centres, cable car, wildwater chute for rafting and kayaking, a spa and an adventure park. The very famed moorish castle Aljafería Palace is a short distance from Zaragoza's old city centre, near Zaragoza-Delicias station.
