Beach buffs in search of a Costa Brava break that's easy on the budget, this one’s for you. Camping Blanes, 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Blanes, is wallet-friendly but also well endowed with those things you need for a fab seaside break. For starters, there’s the enviable location in a wooded park a mere hop, skip and jump across the promenade from the resort’s long stretch of sandy beach, meaning you can hotfoot it from spacious shaded pitch to sea swimming in just a couple of minutes. There’s also a playground and games room to keep the kids busy, and an outdoor pool for even more convenient cooling off, or safe splashing for small ones while you recline on the surrounding sun terrace. Restaurants, bars and shops of all varieties are a gentle 10-minute amble away for when you’d like to stretch your legs. Eats and drinks can be sorted on site too if you don’t fancy the walk: a mini market stocks essentials including fresh fruit, veggies, bread and pastries, and in summer there’s a bar and restaurant with a sizeable open-air terrace for alfresco dining and drinks. You’re also in a splendidly strategic spot for more of Catalonia’s coast and cities – day trips to Girona, Figueres and Empúries are within easy reach, as is fably colourful Barcelona. It’s a 15-minute walk up to the bus station, so you can still go a-wandering even if you’ve not got your own wheels, or would like to leave them behind on site (highly recommended in the case of Barcelona).

Liked: Nah am Meer. Tor zum Meer mit cod.

Disliked: Die parzellen zu Mini. Und zu viele Bäume. Die Toilette sind zum heulen. Man sollte sich besser der Kanalisation und mal eine Heizung anschaffen. Damit man im Winter den Hintern nicht abfriert. Zudem kommt noch dazu , daß man im Dunkeln sein Geschäft verrichten muss. Im behinderten Toilette, was auch gleichzeitig, Dusche ist, ist mehr wie grenzwertig. Da kommt das Wasser von der Decke, hinunter. Umkleiden kann man sich dort nicht, selbst für Menschen mit händycap hat da Probleme.dann steht in der Beschreibung, daß ein einkaufsladen dort ist. Ja aber, so wurde uns mitgeteilt erst in einer Woche. Na da kommt Freude auf.und der baulärm der aktuell vorhandenen ist auf dem Campingplatz da sagt keiner was, damit du dich mal sammeln kannst. WLAN ist, auch mehr wie grenzwertig. Ein Tag für 4 Euro.das beste kommt zum Schluss. Es sagt weder Google map noch der Campingplatz Betreiber das vor dem Campingplatz mehrere Baustellen sind,so das du vor Wut im dreieck fährst. Na , so was braucht man ganz bestimmt nicht. Ps. Ach bei den Waschbecken zum Stühlen, würde ich mich als Betreiber schämen, kein Geld aus zu geben für einen neuen Wasserhahn wo Wasser raus kommt. Nicht empfehlenswert, sondern grenzwertig.

Liked: Meistens sehr viel Platz, ruhige Lage trotzdem viele kleine Restaurants (in der Saison) Die sanitäre Anlagen wurden, im Vergleich zum Jahr 2023 verbessert.

Disliked: Kaum Sonne und somit auch keinen sat Empfang. Weit von der Stadt entfernt.

Local attractions

Aside from the beach, Blanes also has a fab botanic garden and castle to explore, both with gorgeous sea views. It’s also something of a watersports hub, with plenty of aquatic antics including sea kayaking, deep sea fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving. If you’ve got kids in tow, a recommended stop is Marineland waterpark, 10 minutes’ drive from the site. It’s a 45-minute drive to Girona to walk on the walls of the fortified town, cross the Eiffel bridge and visit museums dedicated to cinema and Jewish history. A little further on is Figueres, most famed for Salvador Dalí’s surreal theatre-museum but also home to a toy museum and an old monastery and castle. The big day out from here, though, has to be Barcelona – you can drive down in about an hour, or use public transport from central Blanes (a train leaves every half hour at peak times).
