Kids of all ages are warmly welcomed at Camping Internacional de Calonge – and once they've been suitably entertained in the kids' club, there's also direct access to the site's own Costa Brava sandy beach. As you'll have sussed, this is a family-friendly site, and is set up to entertain all ages: sports tournaments and evening shows including dance nights and music run regularly in high season, along with aquagym and aerobics for the slightly more energetic. An adults' and a kids' pool along with the site solarium and hammocks are open from spring until autumn. A wide variety of facilities and services are available all year round including a basketball court, a tennis court, a football pitch, a pétanque court, ping pong tables and two playgrounds.

Route directions

By train: Caldes de Malavella (30km) By car: The campsite is located on the coastal road between Palamós and Platja d'Aro. Head south on the C31 and continue up to the "km 661". Take the exit signposted Calonge and continue on the C253 towards Platja d'Aro. The campsite is signposted.

Local attractions

Once you've unpeeled yourself from the sands of the Camping Internacional de Calonge beach and as many more as you can get to around the Costa Brava, drive around to the local medieval towns and big cities of the region, like Barcelona, Girona, Figueres and Peratallada. Closer to base, have days among sands and shops at Castell-Platja d'Aro two kilometres away, the ancient village and tourist town built around a fortified church and a medieval castle; its neighbour Santa Cristina d'Aro, home to a golf course with spectacular views; Palamós five kilometres away with its wide sailing and windsurfing bay, and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with access to the clifftop drive along the coast to Tossa de Mar. Other excellent options nearby are a day splashing around at the Aquadiver waterpark or pottering among the ceramics of crafty centre La Bisbal d'Empordà; the isles, boat trips and wildlife of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Nature Park are easily accessible too.
