General
- Forest site two kilometres from Montseny National Park
- A 40-minute drive from Girona and 35 from Costa Brava beaches
- Large swimming pool surrounded by gardens
Hikers, forest fans and nature spotters: this is the site for you.
Catalonia's Camping La Balma is set in the middle of a forest, beside a small river and a natural spring, and is only two kilometres from Montseny National Park, a UNESCO biosphere reserve that has some of the highest peaks of the Catalan coastal range.
And beach buffs and urbanites should be sorted too, as La Balma is about 35 minutes' drive to the beaches of the Costa Brava and about 40 minutes from Girona. Barcelona is around an hour and a half away.
All ages from young to old(er) are welcome: the site has a 6mx12m swimming pool surrounded by gardens, and space for kids to be let loose at the playgrounds or on the football pitch or basketball court. The bar has table football, ping pong tables and pool tables.
Camping La Balma also has a food shop; more supplies can be easily sorted at the village of Espinelves a kilometre away.
