  • 300 metres from sandy Benicàssim Beach
  • In the Castellon town of Benicàssim, home of indie music's FIB
  • Pool, terrace, gym and sports court
Music fans and beach buffs, Camping & Bungalows Bonterra Park is the very Spanish site for you. For not only is it at the Castellon town of Benicàssim, home of one of Europe's best indie music festivals the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim or FIB, it's a mere 300 metres from sandy Benicàssim Beach. (Combine both with a guitar session on the sands, say we.) The Bonterra Park team members make it their steely determination to offer first-rate service and modern facilities so that guests can have an excellently laidback hol, and have heaps of tips and info about the surrounding area and what you can see and do. On site, Bonterra Park has a pool and a paddling pool, a spacious terrace, a gym, a sports court and a playground.

Local attractions

Aside from those who flock to FIB, Benicàssim is a popular seaside resort: you'll see why when you get a look at its six or so kilometres of award-winning sandy beaches. The town is also known for its muchly high mountains (sea views from mountains are always a plus with us too), including the 729-metre peak of Mount Bartolo in the Desert de les Palmes range. On land and somewhat less hairily, pedal the Vía Verde or Green Way, a five and half kilometre cycle path between Benicassim and its neighbouring resort town of Oropesa. Along Benicassim's promenade, the La Ruta de las Villas or Route of the Villas is an amble past highly scenic nineteenth and twentieth century mansions, split into the Celestial Court walk (villas known for their peaceful air) and the Hell route, with villas that were notorious in their day for hell-raising Gatsbyesque parties. We know which set we'd have been hanging out at... Much more sedately within reach of Camping & Bungalows Bonterra Park, the Sierra de Santa Agueda is a spiritual retreat built by the Carmelites, and the Las Columbretes archipelago is where to go to wildlife spot.
