How do you fancy settling down by a Spanish seaside town a few metres from the sea? And at a site with direct access to a pebble beach only 40 metres away to partake of swimming, sunbathing, diving, surfing, sailing and fishing? The town is Chilches in Castellón, a settlement with two beaches and a promenade of a kilometre and a half, and the site is Camping Tres Estrellas Mediterráneo, a relaxed and friendly place with a mild climate all year round and the place to use as a base for exploring Castellón and whatever else tickles your fancy in the Valencia province. Camping Tres Estrellas Mediterráneo has an outdoor pool, a pétanque court and a playground; the modern amenities blocks include free hot water for the showers. Please note that the site has a busy evening and nightly entertainment programme in summer, including festivals and karaoke; these can continue until 3am.

Local attractions

The beaches in Chilches are just the ticket for family holidays because of their warm, clear and shallow waters: bask or paddle here to take it easy, or ask the Camping Tres Estrellas Mediterráneo team about the fishing, swimming, diving and windsurfing available in the immediate surroundings. Elsewhere in Castellón, potter around the small towns of the region or have a day in its capital Castellón de la Plana; the mountain range Desert de les Palmes rises to the town's north. Desert de les Palmes is also a nature park and well worth a look for wildlife watchers, as are other nature highlights in the province such as the Columbretes Islands, the Sierra d´Espadà and Sierra Calderona mountain ranges, and the Turia river. Also visit music and seaside town Benicàssim, the resort of Oropesa del Mar, and Peñíscola, the fortified seaport built on a rocky headland.

Liked: Nos gustó mucho el bungalow, todo muy limpio y muy confortable. Como un hotel dentro del camping. La cercanía de la piscina con la playa y las actividades para los más peques.

Disliked: Al bar le faltaría un poco mas de propuesta gastronómica.

Liked: Camping tranquilo y muy cercano a la playa, instalaciones limpias y personal muy atento. Cumplió con creces las éspectativas de pasar unos días de playa en familia. A resaltar el trabajo del socorrista por su profesionalidad y simpatía con los niños en las horas de actividad y entretenimiento. Sin duda volveremos a repetir.

Liked: El alojamiento fantástico muy nuevo, cuidado y limpio. Aunque el espacio es reducido está muy bien organizado, tienes todo lo que puedes necesitar para pasar unos días.

Liked: La amabilidad de todos los que trabajan en el Camping. La ubicación inmediatamente en la Playa. Las animaciones de Yoga/Pilates Aquagim. Los bungalows estaban muy entretenidos.

Disliked: Muchisimos mosquitos. Estaria bien avisar a los clientes de coger anti mosquitos antes de llegar. Nosotros llegamos muy tarde y no pudimos comprar anti-mosquitos. A mi marido le picaron una cantidad increíble. Seria interesante poner mosqueteras en las ventanas. Un exprimidor para las naranjas o limones en un pais de naranjos estaría bien.
