You might reckon that many a beach adventure will be had at Camping La Aventura Playa... and you'd reckon right. Set on the Valencia province's Costa del Azahar, this pretty place is a half-kilometre stroll from Daimús beach, a stretch of Spanish sand circled by dunes, and close to the long, wide sands, bars, nightclubs and restaurants of seaside resort Gandia. This is a peaceful place in a natural setting, with leafy trees placed to provide shade from the summer heat (have a siesta under one in between trips to the sands?). Facilities include a free pool and a playground; for amenities, there's a modern toilet and shower block, suitable for guests with disabilities, and with running free hot water. Supermarkets, restaurants and recreational areas are within walking distance, but if you've had a long and strenuous day sunbathing on Daimús beach, a recommended option is surely toddling off for tapas at the site's café-restaurant.

Local attractions

If you're feeling a tad energetic, a go-karting centre is at Camping La Aventura Playa's local village of Daimús, while paintballing is available at nearby Gandia, along with heaps more: Gandia is one of the biggest coastal towns on the Costa del Azahar and is filled with bars, nightclubs, restaurants and shops. A tad more culturally, have a look at its Ducal Palace of Gandia, the archaeology museum and the beginning of the Route of the Borgias, the famed path along sites associated with the Borgia. The fab city of Valencia less than 60 kilometres away has over a thousand food stalls at its huge central market as well as a famed zoo and even more famed aquarium in the Oceanografico, the biggest in Europe. Theme park? Take the kids to the five zones of Terra Mitica, the marine animal park Mundomar, and Spain's biggest waterpark Aqualandia, all within day trip distance in Benidorm.
