Are you up for a stunning setting in Spain? Then prepare to pitch up at Campsite A' Vouga, in a gorgeous Galicia seaside spot, right on a lush beach with easy access to the handsome old harbour town of Muros. There's a direct path to the sands from here, as well as spectacular sea views from the pitching field and easy access to the scenery and hundreds of beaches around the Muros and Noya estuary and surrounding Galician coast. Venturing off exploring, the world-famed cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the destination point of the pilgrimage route St James's Way, is about an hour to the east. Whichever type of day out you plump for, you'll surely seek to investigate Galician cuisine fully while in this part of Spain – so return of an evening to settle down in the excellent Campsite A' Vouga restaurant, which dishes up traditional Galician recipes (as well as international options if the kids are being picky). All food is prepared with locally sourced ingredients: sample some of the freshly caught fish and seafood for particularly flavoursome fare. Campsite A' Vouga is set in front of the mighty pretty Monte Louro, which rises up from the estuary over the water. It's a spacious, friendly and well-maintained site, with roomy pitches, a cleanly-kept toilet and shower block, a laundry room and a washing-up area. The site is dog friendly.

Liked: Location was fabulous. Lovely beach. Good walks into Muros and local area around. Good restaurant with veranda overlooking the sea. Very popular with long stay motorhome costumers.

Disliked: Sanitary conditions. No soap in toilets or hand towels. Toilets cleaned only at night. No ability to clean the floor before a shower from the dirt of the camping plots, as no mop or bucket available. Washing hung in an area over the sewage access points, which left clothes smelling of sewage.location also near a sewage plant, so could be unpleasant smell at times. Given Covid and hygiene it would. NOt cost much to provide soap and paper towels in the toilets as the site makes a lot of money and iis full due to it’s lovely location. Wi fi often not available.

Liked: The views, the beach, the dog-friendly staff and facilities, everything was clean and friendly and the place is superbly located. We really liked the bar/restaurant for drinks and breakfast.

Disliked: The tent pitches were a bit close to a local road, so there was some noise overnight. Perhaps tents could be located a bit further from the road.

Disliked: Baños viejos no muy limpios, las tapas de los wateres manchadas no hay jabón para lavarse las manos. Las pilas de lavar la loza y la ropa muy estropeadas.

Liked: Given a 5 star as the location is beautiful with bars and restaurants in the little village a short walk along the beach. Blue Flag beach steps from the camp site. Lovely, friendly staff. Daily bread and restaurant.

Disliked: This was our second visit and we had a great time. Do wish they would update the toilet/shower facilities. However, I would still visit again as the location is perfect.

Liked: We loved the location and proximity to amazing beaches, cute towns and beautiful views. Not too busy and perfect for families, pets and couples. Facilities were really clean and great to have a restaurant onsite with a really good (although overpriced) restaurant with stunning views of the beach. They have a daily bread/ croissant delivery service which was helpful. Really liked the town of Muros, visiting nearby beaches and attractions including Carnota.

Disliked: Restaurant was expensive in comparison to others we’ve been to in the area.

Liked: Las vistas del restaurante.

Disliked: Todos los servicios mal cuidados, las duchas llenas de pelos y los baños sucios. Bastante desagradable. La parcela no tenía ni una sombra, tampoco dejan utilizar los árboles para poner cuerdas. Tuvimos suerte y nos tocó cerca del mar, pero aún así no hay un espacio libre de tiendas o caravanas para disfrutar de las vistas. El restaurante es caro.

Local attractions

Campsite A' Vouga is at the northern entrance of the Muros and Noya estuary, niftily set for lengthy days in the Galician outdoors fishing, hiking, sailing, surfing, cycling or just getting sandy on one or several of the many local beaches. Potter around local harbour town Muros while you're here, to see its scenic harbour, pretty promenade and boats setting out to sea, before tapas and a beer at one of the seafront restaurants. Across the bay, the old seaport town of Ribeira is worth the hour and 10-minute drive for its seafood and sardine eateries, one of the busiest fish markets in Spain, and viewsome scenes from the San Roque park among the hills overlooking the town and coast. It's well worth the hour or so drive east to Galician capital Santiago de Compostela to see the cathedral marking the end of the famed pilgrimage route of St James – particularly as you can drive there rather than wearily trekking hundreds of footsore kilometres like the pilgrims of yore…

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Protective masks must be worn at all times in common areas.
