In a seafront land in Galicia, far far away from life's little large stresses, there sits a site named Camping Bayona Playa. And as you'll be able to tell from its name, it's right by a beach – has direct access to one, in fact, on a narrow peninsula surrounded by a river estuary on the Galician coast. Bayona Playa is a large and well-maintained site, with a seasonal outdoor pool with waterslides; it's also got a playground, a basketball court and a café-restaurant serving up traditional Galician and Spanish dishes along with views of the nearby Cíes Islands. The loo and shower block is cleaned regularly and is suitable for guests with disabilities. Other amenities include a washing-up area, a launderette with coin-operated washing machines and dryers, and a disposal point for chemical toilet waste. Activities like local excursions, walks, cycling, canoeing, snorkelling, paddleboarding, surfing, windsurfing and sailing are arranged for guests in high season.

Disliked: All services - pool /shop/cafe closed as end of season and Wi-Fi signal poor

Liked: Fantastic shower/toilet block Beautiful beaches- safe swim areas Lovely walks Supermarket close by Stunning river view

Disliked: On site pool, shop and restaurant closed. This was expected and was clearly explained prior to booking.

Liked: Cycle path from campsite that went for miles along the coast. Spotless facilities. Good onsite shop.

Disliked: Too big, busy and noisy for us. Pitches very cramped. Well separated by mature hedges but caravans, motorhomes etc almost on top of each other.

Definitely book again best site we stayed at for some time.

Liked: Very cheerful reception staff. Nice flat pitch with hedges, overlooking the lagoon. Facilities all clean and tidy. Beach access with swipe card is superb. Sunsets fantastic 👌 Lovely cycle path going both directions along coast. Would recommend.

Disliked: Very noisy group of kids up until the early hours. Huge crane and lorries delivering cabins from 7am. But I guess this will not happen again. Bar and pool etc closed.

Liked: El camping está en la propia playa y en un paseo de media hora está bayona que está genial, también me gusto mucho el tobogán y me impresionaron los baños, estaban súper limpios siempre.

Disliked: No había césped, era tierra y los costos que sueltan los pinos, cada poco caían piñas enormes que te podían romper el cristal del coche. La cafetería una estafa 3.10 por una cerveza y 1.80 por un café, se deben pensar que es Ibiza.....

Local attractions

The medieval coastal town of Baiona is four kilometres or about a ten-minute drive from Camping Bayona Playa and is a popular place for Spaniards who come to these cooler climes during the Galician summers. It has six beaches as well as an Old Town sitting behind its seafront; go Old Town-wards for cheaper bars and restaurants than on the main beachfront part. The city of Vigo, the most populous in Galicia, is about half an hour's drive from the site, very near the Portuguese border. Head here for the day for four beaches, a historic and a modern city centre, and several museums, including its highly regarded Museum of Contemporary Art and the Galician Center of Photography. Less than an hour away is Pontevedra, the city with medieval port, Zona Monumental old centre and scenic strolls around its parks, promenade and squares.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
The site will send you further check-in information 15 day(s) before your arrival.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs are required to wear a muzzle.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
