Norfolk glamping breaks

Norfolk’s wide open spaces and gorgeous coastline make it a top pick for an outdoor break, but if you’d like to combine all that with an extra level of comfort it’s time to give glamping a go.

Whether you’re planning to boat through the Broads, splash in the sea or head out to hike along the coast path, Norfolk has lots of options for comfortable places to cosy up after a day out in the fresh air.

From seaside shepherd’s huts to farm-based bell tents, read on for our advice on finding the Norfolk glamping site for you.

Where you should stay in Norfolk

  • Taking the family glamping is a great idea, as it means lots of open space but no need to bring camping kit along. For a family-friendly Norfolk holiday you can’t beat a classic seaside resort, so have a look at places around the likes of Cromer or Great Yarmouth – the latter is also home to the Sea Life Centre, which could be a handy option on a rainy day.

  • Bringing your dog along on a break? There are plenty of dog-friendly Norfolk glampsites to choose from, and again it’s a real winner to have all that open space on hand for dogs to stretch their legs. Some beaches in Norfolk have dog restrictions in summer, so make sure you pick one that’s dog-friendly all year round if they want to play on the sand: Hunstanton, Brancaster and Mundesley all fit the bill.

  • Stoking a campfire, watching the stars and then cuddling up in a cosy bed – glamping is a lovely idea for a romantic break for two. Smart bell tents with proper beds make good choices for the summer months, while more solid shepherd’s huts might be more suitable for off-season breaks. There’s also the option of using our filters to choose an adults-only site if you’d like to be sure of time away from kids. Steer clear of the busy resort towns if you'd like to keep your whole break nice and calm – somewhere like Fakenham is close enough to the action without being right in the middle of it.

  • If you’re keen to emphasise the ‘glam’ in glamping, have a look at our collection of Norfolk luxury glampsites – some even have a hot tub for that final touch of indulgence. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and pubs around for top-notch meals out too: try Burnham Market or the area around Norwich for some tasty options.

What to do in Norfolk

  • The North Norfolk coast is such a gorgeous stretch that it’s been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Walking along the Norfolk Coast Path is a good way to see some of it, or you can cherry-pick top spots like the huge sandy beach at Holkham, the seal colony at Blakeney and the cute beach huts at Wells-next-the-Sea.

  • There are lots of ways to explore the waterways of the Norfolk Broads – hire a boat, take a cruise or get active by paddleboarding or kayaking through the gorgeous scenery. Whichever one appeals, the area around Wroxham is handy for hiring and launching your vessel of choice.

  • Along with the spectacular scenery are some rather fabulous stately homes to visit. Base yourselves near King’s Lynn to see the Queen’s country abode at Sandringham, or head to Aylsham for the lavish Blickling Estate.

Here’s how

Pitchup is designed to make it easy to find and book your glamping break. As all of our sites have their own individual character, you can personalise your search by using the filters on this page to find the place that’s just right for you – perhaps selecting somewhere that’s got fishing on site, or with a play area so you can keep the kids busy? Select as few or as many filters as you like and you’ll see all the options that match.
