Liked: The warden couple were very helpful and got us into the right pitch without too much fuss. Lovely part of the country with beautiful villages and quintessential English small towns dotted around. Some of the folk who have season pitches were very friendly and generously invited us to join them for evening drinks.
Disliked: The toilet block whilst very clean was functional - a converted portacabin I think. So looks, washbasins and showers very close together. Could do with better lighting.

Liked: The area is beautiful, we found a lovely wooden park by the village hall for the kids (3,3 &6), and two miniature horses down the road who were happy for attention. The site is lovely and clean, and the regulars are really friendly. The warden was instantly named ‘the grumpy man’ by the kids, he was pretty grumpy.. but we were there ten minutes past closure. I’m not sure if there is a noise curfew but the tent opposite us had music playing till just past 11. The site was perfect distance to Stockeld Park for the kids, and York for us. Only downside we found was the showers were just too hot for the kids, but we were able to use the caravan so not the end of the world. Over all a lovely stay and we will definitely be back :)
Disliked: Nothing at all
