Campsites in Sennen: from motorhome-friendly hubs to tipis for hire

Sennen certainly isn’t lacking in the accommodation department. As Cornwall is one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations, there are plenty of spots to stay hereabouts, including traditional campsites with room for everyone from solo travellers to extended families.

If you’re bringing the bairns to Cornwall, you’d do well to pick a caravan park with ample activities aimed at smaller humans. The best Sennen campsites for tiddlers have amenities like swimming pools, play areas and sports fields.

Not got nippers but do have furry friends in tow? Choose from dog-friendly campsites in Sennen, and let them roam free down on Gwynver around the corner from Sennen Cove, a beach that allows canines all year round.

Smashing stuff to do in Sennen on your Cornwall camping trip

It’s likely you came all the way down here for a beach break, so first things first: freewheel down the hill from the village towards a stunning stretch of sand framed by crashing waves of the surfable sort. And if you’d like to ride said waves? Lessons from locals are available – just mosey over to the school by the car park and sort a few out.

Swimming is also to be had between the flags at Sennen Cove – which are moved depending on the tide – and dips tend to be dreamy thanks to the southern headland protecting the cove from Atlantic winds.

Climbers are also pretty keen on the cliffs around Sennen, so you might spot some adventurous types scampering up the crags now and again.

Not interested in sports of any shape or form? Settle in for some sunbathing on the soft sand, interspersed with a little look in the art galleries around the harbour, before partaking in a stroll along the cliffs – a fab three-mile circular walk leads from Sennen to Land’s End and back if you’d like to stand on Britain’s most southwesterly patch of turf (without having to shell out for the eyebrow-raising parking fees).

Spots like the spectacular cove at Porthcurno and the harbourside hamlet of Mousehole are perhaps a bit too far for a wander, so you might want to get in the car to reach these (they’re 10 and 20 minutes’ drive, respectively).

And Porthcurno’s not just known for its tropical-looking white-sand beach – it’s also towered over by the cliffside Minack Theatre, perhaps the most scenic place in the UK to catch a play.
