Liked: Really nice and peaceful. Quite large pitches. Lovely friendly staff and just generally a nice place to stay a couple of nights. Half an hour walk to a local village and beach however no footpath. Everything we wanted to do meant driving to it but that wasn't an issue for us. Didn't use wifi so can't really comment on whether it was good or not
Disliked: Now I'd say the site was relatively clean but the shower block was supposed to be mopped by each person using them. This doesn't seem to happen with most campers so the cubicles always dirty, hair around basin and toilet. Hair stuck to the wall. Dirty water on the floor, i mopped before and after but the mop left outside was dirty too so could hardly clean properly. The shower block wasn't cleaned by staff at all that weekend and the same rubbish was in the toilets bin Friday - Sunday and hair building in corners of the floor. Everything else ok just think maybe someone should oversee the cleaning (this was not the main shower block)

From the manager: Hi Gemma, Thank you for your review Regarding the cleaning of the showers I personally cleaned the showers every day either in the morning or early afternoon, or both if necessary and mop water was emptied and cleaned out at each clean, i also check the showers daily to ensure they are clean and have toilet roll. Unfortunatley i cannot clean up after every use and mop after every camper as i can't physically be at the showers constantly. Regarding the rubbish in the bins they are emptied every morning and the showers and toilets are throughly cleaned. The walk to the beach is a short walk up the main road and then you walk onto a foot path the rest of the way. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, rest assure that those showers are cleaned everyday at least once a day and checked 3-4 time per day including a late night check to ensure they are up to standard and that the toilet rolls are full. They were personally cleaned by myself every morning / late afternoon over the full weekend. kind regards, Rachael

Liked: Great location with mountain views and lovely quiet site. Good facilities with a large field for playing games, alpacas, a donkey and a horse. Nice showers too.
Disliked: The position of the fixed campfires means if you have a large family rent you can't use the one on your pitch unless you want your tent to go.up in flames. Such a shame as you can't move them so need to find a vacant one which might be tricky at busy times..if they were approx a metre further they'd be fine e

From the manager: Thank you Rachael for your review The Campfires cant be moved due to fire safety regulations, when booking a pitch we do ask for your tent size because some of our pitches are smaller then others. If you had booked a larger pitch then your tent would have been further away from the campfire allowing you to use the one on your pitch, the reason we ask for tent sizes is to ensure that the tent will fit onto the pitch you have booked, if your tent was to close to the fire pit this means your tent is larger than the pitch size you had booked. We can accommodate all tent sizes on our site We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you back again soon Kind regards, Rachael

Liked: Size of pitch, bathrooms were clean. Fridge and freezer available. The meadow for the kids to play on
Disliked: The newer shower rooms flooded so the whole floor was wet meant the kids clothes ended up soaking wet. The gate is locked until 9am this is quite late considering most campers are up early.

From the manager: Thank you for your review We are pleased you enjoyed your stay In regards to the New shower rooms they are made for 1 person we do have another shower block which has a larger cubicle in for when familys are wanting to use it with younger children. The electric gate is locked between the hours of 10pm - 9am however you can get of the campsite at any time due to us having a one way system you do not exit via the electric gate. thank you Rachael

Liked: Very close proximity to many attractions. We visited 2 beaches which were very close to the stay. Neatly maintained, good pitch, toilets were immaculate. Fridge, washing area and many other facilities were really good. Loved the entire stay.
Disliked: We were 3 families and wanted to pitch tents next to each other, although we had called them 2 weeks ago, they still dint give them together which was a bit of a dampener. After 1st day, the electricity went out in the pitch. When asked they couldn't fix it and refused to refund difference amount and instead gave us options to move to another electric pitch. How would we fold tents and pitch in a different place all over again? That was very poor customer service. Rules are very strict which I personally felt it was not needed. Some rules needs to be eased, for example allow friends to pitch together or use multiple tents in same pitch as its a big pitch. The beautiful Yorkshire dales view is blocked with many shrubs. Would be nice if they work towards improving the view.

From the manager: Hi Narayan, Thank you for your review Unfortunatley on your last night the electric did go off which was completely beyond our control, as was explained to you at the time, this affected 6 pitches on site including your pitch the other pitch in your group with ehu was not affected and the other pitch was a non-electric pitch, this was because someone departing from our site had caused damage to one of our boxes, we did everything in our power to try and resolve this problem, but with it being a bank holiday weekend we where unable to get an electrician out, we did offer you another pitch with ehu but you declined. Regarding you wanting to be pitched together 1 family had booked a non electric pitch which is in a different area to the campsite, another booking was a large electric pitch which is again behind the smaller electric pitches, you where as close as we could possibly get you at such short notice. You did not call us two weeks before your arrival as you had only made the booking on the 19/05/2024 and we were never informed that you were booking with two other families as we only accept two family bookings on our site which is stated in pitch ups terms and conditons. Regarding the view of " The Beautiful Yorkshire Dales" we are in the Lake district which is about 2 hrs 30 mins away from the Yorkshire dales. Regarding allowing multiple tents on the same pitch this is not permitted due to it being a legal requirement of units being 6 metres apart at all times. We do allow friends/families to pitch together, however this is on request and we need to be informed that you are coming together for us to be able to do so, however due to your bookings all being different pitch types and sizes this was not possible in your case, as stated above. We had pitched you as close as we possibly could.

Liked: A great little site. Our first visit travelling with a drive away awning. And a success it was. Co op only a 10 min drive away for all needs. When we arrived we took up the offer of the fire pack and it was lovely sitting in the early evening. Again about 10 minute drive into Seascale beach. Parking is free but I guess it would get busy at weekends. Scarfell peak is around 40 minutes drive and was a nice day out but only walked it for 50 minutes and had enough. The site was nice and friendly more than enough toilets and showers. Wash up area near and tidy. On arrival we’re told all that needs to be known for the visit. Staff always on hand and a number if needed. Good sized meadow connected to the camp to walk your dog. Overall a great trip.
Disliked: I personally think a laundrette is needed as we’ve been away and could have done with doing a wash but not the end of the world.
