Liked: Everything, the owner and family very friendly, happy to chat. Stay was relaxed and hassle free, wild life everywhere. Great to see families doing things together, without a TV, play station anywhere. Kids having old fashioned fun and games. No loud music
Disliked: Only that our time on site was only 3 nights

Liked: Beautiful views, lovely and peaceful, not overcrowded. Maya and all at Abbey Home Farm were so welcoming and friendly. We joined the morning Egg Collecting with our 5 and 2 year old boys and had such a great time. Great location (we visited Bibury Trout Farm - 10/15mins away, and Bourton-on-the-Water and Birdland - 25 mins away. WiFi wasn’t needed as the phone reception was great here.
Disliked: Hard pushed to find criticisms but if anything, the walk to the loos needed more lights. It was a little tricky not being able to drive to the pitch but that’s not to say it should be any other way. The ground was in great condition because of it and wheelbarrows were readily available. If it is a major problem, you can pitch up in a section for vehicles but you do miss out on the amazing view.

Liked: We camped here. The campsite is superb. The only thing that did not appear clear to us was that you need to bring your own toilet paper. We are fans of composting toilets. Some pictorial instructions might also help people use them properly. None of this detracted from our enjoyment. The dawn chorus is quite loud which suits us. The shop is well stocked and has a substantial refill section. That is a really positive thing. We didn't buy much but the produce us excellent. Finally the cafe is equally well run. We had a pork Sunday roast. It was delicious. Wonderfully presented and superbly cooked. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. If we come this way again we will come here.

Liked: Beautiful view and farm walk and we had the place pretty much to ourselves although it was midweek in May. Also a big surprise was we had a great phone signal meaning we could access mobile data.
Disliked: The bossy staff weren't fun. Even over the phone before we booked, and we almost didn't because of the person answering. They must encounter a lot of rule breakers and thoughtless people because the must and must nots are repeated in signage and every time you encounter a member of staff. It wasn't for us unfortunately. They are slightly lacking in customer care skills. We're a middle aged couple - we don't break the rules.

From the manager: Hi, so sorry you felt unwelcome. Our farm shop and wider farm team pride themselves on being a friendly welcoming face to all visitors to the farm so we are sorry you didn’t feel this. Signage is for gentle reminders to protect the biodiversity/help manage the site responsibly (please no driving on vehicle free side, no fires on the ground, not taking logs from the wood etc). As a relaxed site without a campsite office/reception on the actual field we do find it helpful to have a couple of polite notices. Glad you enjoyed the quiet field though and that the mobile data was useful.
Not crowded with just the basics, like camping should be!

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Loved the beautiful farm walk. Pitches protected from the wind with high hedge(with a few gaps if you're looking for views). Not crowded and loved the mown out tent pitches on the wild flower pitches. Basic compost toilets and showers but totally fine for us.
Disliked: A bit of traffic noise. Getting to campsite before 5pm on a Friday will be difficult for most.
