A small five van Camping & Caravanning Club site, that is situated about five miles from Spalding (a historic market town) on the outskirts of Moulton Chapel. Moulton Chapel is a small country village, with a very unusual small round Church. It has a village shop, Methodist chapel, two public houses with good restaurants, butchers, hairdressers and a garage all within walking distance of the site. Site has the following facilities: Two water points Six electricty points Male and female W.C.s with basins One elsan point Dustbins for normal household waste Recycle bin The paddock is a level grass site, surrounded by trees and hedge rows, which attract many different types of birds and butterflies (including robins, blackbirds, wrens, woodpeckers, mistle thrushes etc).

Route directions

When travelling from Spalding towards Peterborough, take the 1st exit at the Cowbit roundabout onto the B1357 towards Moulton Chapel. When travelling from Peterborough, take the A47 towards Wisbech, then turn off onto the A1073 (new A16) at the Eye roundabout heading for Spalding. Take the 3rd exit at Cowbit roundabout. Site is on the left in approximately 1 mile, 1/2 mile before the village.

Local attractions

There are many places of interest close to The Hunters Lodge Caravan Site, which you may wish to visit or you may wish to make it your base, to enable you to travel further afield. The village of Moulton is four miles away, with its 800 year old church and a windmill which is in the process of being restored with new sales. This is open to the public, has tea rooms and has been featured on television. The Spalding water taxi is a relaxing 30 minute cruise taking you from Spalding town centre to the Springfield’s shopping centre and back. www.spaldingwatertaxi.co.uk The Springfield’s Shopping Outlet is about 10 minutes from the campsite, which has restaurants and pubs, an indoor play area for children, as well as the bargain price shops. www.springfieldsshopping.com Springfield's Gardens has 25 acres of beautiful gardens well worth a visit, a mini golf course, a spectacular fountain display, which is held several times per day in time with music (check with their web page for details). www.springfieldsgardens.co.uk Ayscoughfee Hall Museum is set in a Medieval Hall dating back to around 1451. This fascinating grade II* listed building includes exhibitions, displays and educational opportunities for all to enjoy.The formal gardens beautifully complement the Hall, and feature a Yew Tree walk dating back to the 1720s. The Ornamental Lake is headed by a War Memorial designed by the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, while hidden to the rear of the gardens is the Ice House which originally served the Hall's kitchens. www.ayscoughfee.org The tropical butterfly house is not far from the campsite and is a good day out for the all the family, especially young children.
