Liked: I LOVE my Shepherd's hut atWhixall marina! This is my third stay and it is perfect every time. I feel safe and relaxed and don't want to leave. The facilities are clean, staff super friendly and helpful. It is great value for a two-night escape. Close to great walks and safe cycling. Wildlife and local area are fabulous to explore. There is a station just 2 miles away so easy to walk or cycle to.
Disliked: I would love it if they provided bedding and towels so that I could travel really light and arrive by bike.

Liked: Peacefulness and tranquility of the site. I felt very safe and this was my 2nd visit. Clean and simple accommodation with everything I needed. Friendly, helpful staff if I needed them, clean toilets and showers. Great value for money. Great access to walks and cycling routes. I would highly recommend this site as one of my favourite places to escape to.

Liked: Everything about my stay was perfect. Staff on site were friendly and welcoming. I had everything I needed including delicious cream tea waiting for me in my Shepherd’s hut! As a woman staying on my own, I felt safe and relaxed throughout my stay. The site was clean and well run. Accommodation was clean and simple but with basic things I needed such as kettle, microwave and small electric heater. The shower block and toilets were for exclusive use of shepherd hut residents and were clean and accessible. The site was private and quiet with a great cafe on site and the canal marina location meant there was lots of activity but always quiet and calm. A great place to de-stress and get away from it all without driving miles. The views and local walks are fabulous with an abundance of wildlife and easy access to the magical mosses including Fenn’s and Whixall National Nature Reserve and the marvellous new bird hide at Sinker’s Field.
Disliked: Nothing I disliked.

Liked: Peaceful location, very clean, well equipped. A lovely welcome package of water, crisps, scones and tea, coffee and sugar. Also a starter bucket of logs for the fire pit. We have been twice this year and are planning a return visit. Very clean shores, toilets. Fantastic staff. Great breakfast at the marina cafe.
