Liked: We really enjoyed our stay on the farm. We were very impressed with the facilities which we understood would be very basic from the site description and pictures. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The shower shack was not only easy to use but quite pleasant with hot water, high pressure and a view out across the field (if you're tall enough) while still feeling private. The compost toilets were also pretty neat and surprisingly stink free thanks to the urine separator (the info on how it works is on the stall walls and makes for an interesting read while on the bog). We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves (besides rabbits & owls) and and enjoyed the country atmosphere. It was a great location for exploring local sites by car. Less than 10 mins to the Eden project, 20-30 mins to Heligan, Mevagissey, Polkerris and Fowey, all worth a visit and many more places (including on the N coast) only 45 mins away. Our host, Ruth, messaged before our check in and greeted us on arrival. She let us know we could contact her at any point by phone or a knock on the door, if we needed anything. She let us pick where to pitch our tent. Overall a very welcoming experience.
Disliked: The grass was quite long and dewy while we were there but our host did explain this was due to the relentless rain prior to our stay (Sept 2023) so this is understandable. The ground closest to the facilities was slightly bumpy. This was not a problem for us as we had an air mattress. If you only have a ground mat, it may be worth searching/asking for a smoother spot.

Liked: Management was considerate and handled our complaint professionally. Site wasn’t for us! But respected the values behind it:)
Disliked: Not what we executed, or what the pictures/description described. Didn’t end up staying. Requested a refund and was provided this as well as a knowledgeable insight to the site!

From the manager: Thank you for your comment and I do understand that the size and scale of our fields maybe a little overwhelming to some people, though we have not had any issues with this in the past. I believe I am correct to say, that you did not even make it to view the campsite area, as you felt that the drive over the large flat field was unsuitable for your car. Most cars do pass easily over the field, even small ones, as the field is flat, so there is no chance of grounding out. I admit that the current pictures are of last years campsite and is still located within the same field. Last year, we opened for a longer duration. Due to rule changes, this year, we are only open for half the time and there is less demand, there-for, we are not laying on a cafe. It is still possible to purchase the farm produce from the farmyard directly. Please do not hesitate to ask. The facilities are well managed and I believe are above average for a pop-up campsite. We are very proud of our compost toilet facility which has zero smell and is checked regularly and has always received lots of praise from happy campers. We have mains water, 3 sinks 4 toilets a hot shower. The field has been grazed down over the spring and then mown pathways for walking between large mown areas for camping. For others who are considering booking a pitch, please remember we are a working farm, so if you like quiet large open spaces and being surrounded by nature, this is perfect for you.
