Powered grass campsite

Liked: What a lovely little site. Level tidy grass pitches, clean and tidy shower block. Had a lovely pizza van arrive on the Saturday night which was delicious, the lady running it gave our son a lovely little gift after chatting to her about the area. Dave who manages the site was great and nothings to much.

Disliked: Only had one negative and that was there was no ash bin for bbq ash/firepits, when we asked if there was one anywhere it was taken on broad as a good suggestion.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: The pitches were a generous size, the campsite was quiet (although we did go midweek), staff were friendly, check in was easy, showers and toilets were clean. Great access to Wareham/ Durdle Door/ Lulworth Cove. Easy to pop into Wool for the pub/Spar/ bakery. Lovely ambience. Lots of birdsong in the morning and wake up surrounded by trees.

Disliked: Nothing!

Powered grass campsite

Liked: This was a fantastic site - quiet, the pitches were big and the facilities were perfectly maintained. The toilet block was spotless and the showers were just great. Dave the manager was really friendly and helpful - we didn't consult him until after we'd returned from Durdle Door, but he knew loads about the area and was really nice without being intrusive.

Disliked: Nothing

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Fantastic experience from the moment we arrived! The site manager Dave was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The site is exceptionally well maintained. The grass is mown perfectly and there are well kept gravel paths to avoid mud and puddles after a very wet season. Facilities are excellent - clean, new and practical. The manager even checked in on us later in the evening to make sure we have everything we need. Cannot recommend this site enough and planning to return very soon!

Disliked: Nothing to dislike, highly recommend!

Local attractions

If you’re into all things vehicular, start your local exploration at The Tank Museum, 10 minutes’ drive away – the collection of more than 300 tanks (including Little Willie, the world’s first) is renowned as the world’s finest. Follow up with a steam-powered ride on the Swanage Railway (25 minutes away). As you ride the rails, you’ll pass the ruins of Corfe Castle, built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror – it’s about 15 minutes from the site if you’d like to take a closer look. A mile or so up the road from the castle is the cute Wareham Bears, where more than 200 teddies live in a model village. For real-life animal antics, take the 10-minute drive to Monkey World to see the apes that found TV fame in the UK as stars of the Monkey Life. And one can't ignore the Jurassic Coast – it’ll take you 20 minutes or so to drive to some of its most stunning sights, including Lulworth Cove, Man O’War beach and the giant stone arch Durdle Door. A walk on the South West Coast Path is an excellent way to take it all in, or you could try paddleboarding, sea kayaking or coasteering to get a different view.
