Liked: Had an amazing stay. Staff so helpful in telling me where to go to get to the beach, where to find a nice pub and generally chatty and friendly. Cafe was lovely, staff so nice and very welcoming to my family which included our little dog. Lovely clean campsite, family and dog friendly. Will return in August

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Friendly/welcoming reception lady. Stayed in the non-electric grass pitches with my campervan. This area was ideal, choose your own space. Pitches not allocated. Close to a river and opposite open field. Area was quiet. Good facilities.

Liked: The pitch was perfect for our large tent....the reception staff were very welcoming...the cafe/shop was well stocked and all sorts of food serviced...there was a singer on the night we arrived which was very good...the site was clean and tidy and the toilet/shower block was immaculate..will be booking again. Also on the bus route.

Disliked: The amount of space in between pitches was very close.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: An absolutely spotless site. The facilities are so clean and well maintained. The welcome and show to your pitch was a nice touch. The cafe served up great food and service and the whole site was also super flat! The location of the site is also great for access to Brean and local areas for beaches and walks

Disliked: The only negative I could add is that the water in the ladies shower and sinks was incredibly hot. It made for a nice shower but I'd say it was close to being too hot especially for children

Local attractions

Brean Down is one of the Diamond Farm team's fave views from the site: have a day here for wildlife watching and hiking among spectacular scenery, before descending to the beach and café at the bottom of the Down. Bring your camera too, as the views here are stellar, over the Somerset Levels as well as over the Bristol Channel to south Wales. Also recommended by the team is Brean Leisure Park (five minutes' drive or about 35 minutes' walk), one of the largest funfairs in the south-west and home to rides, rollercoasters and the Brean Splash waterpark on a 200-acre setting. Even closer to home at a mile from the site is the Animal Farm Adventure Park, with a play barn, slides, ball pools and a menagerie of goats, donkeys and llamas and other furry critters to see. Beach buffs can drive along to the sands, pier and helicopter museum of Weston-super-Mare (25 minutes' drive to the north) or Burnham-on-Sea (15 minutes south), for wide open sands, several lighthouses and access to the Somerset Levels. Then set off for days out at Cheddar Gorge (35 minutes), Glastonbury (45 minutes), the Wookey Hole Caves (50 minutes) and the small city of Wells, 55 minutes away.
