Power optional grass campsite
Liked: Greeted by my name being called from across the field, then offered a drink, being British I chose a nice cup of tea of course, although other beverages were offered. Now, if that doesn't tell you everything about the site owners (a wonderful couple, happy to chat and help you settle in) and their attentiveness nothing will. They have a pride for their site as they built it from nothing, I personally admired that fact, again that should tell you something about their view and high standards when it comes to maintaining the grounds and facilities. It was more than acceptable, the shower hot and powerful, toilet clean, dishwashing area spotless, pitches well sized giving 360 degree views. The site is indeed small, which brings the personal touches, and some GLAMpours will enjoy the free hand wash, the free toilet paper, the free paper towels, they'll love the toilet seat AND lid, the removable shower head will bring them joy (stop it), they won't need to worry about any mould on the shower curtain as there wasn't any, nor will they need to be concerned about dirt in the corners of the sanitary unit, again because there wasn't any. Now I did bring a little grass in on my right flip flop, but I made sure I left the room as I found it with the famous (yes I've read other reviews) squeegee and pushed those 8 blades of grass straight back out. After my shower I noticed the water gathering in the trap that I'd read about, and then the funniest thing happed...while I dried off and got sorted, without me noticing, gravity had worked it's magic and that water had disappeared, who knew? Phone reception was perfectly acceptable for a bit of streaming, so the lack of WiFi wasn't an issue. Very peaceful area, no barking dogs in the distance, no cockerel calls early morning. True campers will appreciate a well maintained campsite, in fact that sentence could have been my entire review. Oh yes, and my accommodation was absolutely phenomenal.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike at all.

Liked: It was absolutely lovely campsite, run by a welcoming couple. The pitches were incredibly spacious, and had a beautiful view over the neighbouring farm fields. The electric was really close too so we didn’t need to worry if our electric hookup would reach. The bathroom was clean and a squeegee was provided to wipe away any grass that your shoes carried in. It was very peaceful too.

Liked: Small site. Quiet and rural. Nice view across fields
Disliked: Only one shower had toilet. They at least should have been separate but were in the same room. In the morning all campers need the loo. If someone is having a shower you might have to wait ages for the loo. It’s absolutely ridiculous having the toilet and shower together in one bathroom. Also the bathroom was horrible. The floor was always flooded as the shower drain didn’t work properly. You had to go into the bathroom with bare feet otherwise a load of wet mud and grass would transfer itself from your shoes to the bathroom floor. The bathroom situation really was horrible - the worst I’ve ever seen while calling. I couldn’t wait to leave this site because the toilet and shower were so horrible

From the manager: We are sorry to see you had a horrible experience at our site and couldn’t wait to leave however you did manage to stay for the entire duration unlike your other review. The bloc sanitaire is a purpose-built wet room style building designed to accommodate disabled clients as required in France and part of our initial planning application. As a “Camping a la Ferme” site we did not have to provide any facilities! The bloc sanitaire is shown on the Pitchup listing and described. With regard to the grass – you were the only campers on site and all pitches are listed as grass – unfortunately we cannot prevent cuttings or morning dampness whilst maintaining the grass unless we don’t do so. A squeegee is provided within the bloc sanitaire and along with many small campsites, a notice is displayed that asks clients to leave the facilities in a fashion that they would like to find. Cleaning is undertaken several times with a full clean when clients are away from site. The floor is a wet-room style and there is a settlement dip, again the use of the squeegee ensures water can be directed to the shower drain or swept out the door. We would also like to add that you visited with a dog and as with so many others we have experienced over the last two years our rules have not been followed and on several occasions, it was seen without it's lead being attached. As a result, you will not be able to revisit the site as we have now banned owners with dogs. We now look at your ratings and see you have given a 2 for accommodation – the accommodation was your own so we don’t understand this score as you arrived in a camper van. Facilities/activities – again confused as we don’t advertise any activities as we encourage our clientele to relax. However, a selection of games and a book library are provided. Cleanliness is addressed above. Wifi – we don’t offer wifi so the rating can only be applied to your own mobile phone reception.

Liked: Very efficient and well run campsite. Ian and Julie were lovely and gave us a warm welcome and a cuppa on arrival. The sunset was spectacular! The shower and loo were spotless. Recycling arrangements were very efficient. We really appreciated the little personal touches like letting us borrow a table so we could have a comfortable dinner at sunset. Location was perfect for us - on the road towards Caen/Normandy/Loire
