Electric grass pitch

Liked: The area, close proximity to the water and activities.

Disliked: For the price per night- the toilet/shower facilities were very basic and only in one area which seemed not enough for all the fields- very busy. Sadly kids messing in them brought mud and flooding showers meant cubicle floors were swimming by early evening. Cleaners not in until after 8am. Long walk from top of brook field to a toilet in the middle of the night, not ideal. Good position for the water centre and activities and nice dog walking though and reasonably quiet site late at night despite all the people. Was not made aware of Wi-Fi but think there was some? Poor drainage round the water tap access and again kids playing with it- meant a bit swampy and wet near there.

Liked: Lots of facilities, close to water park

Disliked: The toilets were disgusting, constantly overflowing and on one evening there was no running water at all - no way to wash hands, flush, shower or do the washing up!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Playground, nearby activities, pitched near each other as requested. The tubing and lagoon were great as were the high ropes, cars and archery combat.

Disliked: Location was very near the road, although through a small tree area it felt unsafe to leave the kids to walk around completely free. The toilets need cleaning more than once a day, often in morning they were blocked and very dirty (fine after cleaning, but disgusting before, twice a day would sort this.) The water was off one evening for at least 9 hours (also added to no flushing toilets). The park had a broken section and the washing machines were out of order. More food options in cafe would have been good. It could have been great but definitely need an onsite handyman do fix problems.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: This site has so much potential. Which makes the negatives even more annoying. Roads in to the site are all good for towing. Pitch sizes are good (we had hardstanding). A good set of activities in the country park just opposite the site. Which is a 10 minute walk or you can pay to park there. As it was raining we spent a fair bit parking.. Staff in shop friendly.

Disliked: Where do I start.. The rest of our feedback unfortunately completely override the positives. On the arrival email, we were told our pitch was regatta view 43.. after driving around looking for our pitch on regatta view (with a caravan) there were no signs to help... I managed to catch reception (when they were open, which is not always easy, as they seemed to be closed alot..) and was told the whole area was regatta view and we would be down lagoon avenue. Why they don't have the name of the road/area instead on arrival instructions I dont know. There was no map included in the comms which I found odd, If you want easy checking in, then better signposts and instructions are needed. We saw numerous other people driving around for the same reason throughout the the whole time we stayed. I have never been to such a badly run and poorly cleaned site with such disgusting facilities, they are not fit for purpose. Not only were they really dated, which is fine if working and clean. But, the Bathrooms and toilets were never properly cleaned. The floors were disgusting, toilets blocked and the same muddy footprints across the floors for days.. hundreds of dead flies on the ceiling of the showers. Urine on the floor of bathroom (ladies) No dog bins on site.. Waste water drains are also drinking water taps... Shower cubicals are very very small and everything gets wet as there are no shower doors/ curtains. Only 1 toilet block in use for the whole site, the newer block is completely closed due to a pump issue. The working toilets were old and they were disgustingly dirty constantly throughout our 4 night stay, my kids got locked in one (poor/ old locks on doors). There are 3 elsan points for the whole site. 2 of which were out of order. One leaking on to a camping pitch, the other had the pump issue same as toilet. The one working one was bang smack in the middle of the pods so the lucky people in the 'deluxe' pods near by could sit outside and have a great view of everyone emptying their toilets. 🤢 Kids playground had a boarded up section as it was broken and old. Only 4 sinks to wash up in and 2 had no hot water to them. They were in a disgusting state. Mens showers had a couple out of action. The whole site has potential but terribly thought through and the owners appear to simply not invest and instead rely on money coming in from people visiting the watersports opposite. I would definitely not recommend and most certainly will not return. Everyone we encountered at the site seemed to be saying the same, and looking at other reviews there is a very common theme. Simply a disgusting site. such a shame there is no care or investment. Just greed.
