The George and Dragon

Me gustó: The George & Dragon site is a simple but lovely grass plot at the rear of the pub. We were one of only two vans on our stay so it wasn't busy. The showers and facilities were clean and more than adequate. Unfortunately the pub was shut as it was a Sunday afternoon when we arrived but Clare explained this was an error on the Pitchup site (since corrected I believe). We'd brought our own food so this wasn't a problem for us.

No me gustó: There was quite a bit of road noise from the adjacent main road but not enough to spoil our stay.

Me gustó: Great site, lovely views and facilities spot on. The pub was really welcoming and food delicious! Great walks straight from the site and surrounding villages are beautiful.

No me gustó: Very few shops etc nearby so make sure you have everything you need before you arrive!

Me gustó: Lovely quiet little site. Clean and modern shower and toilet block. Pub is on the doorstep with lovely food, cafe literally a stones throw away for breakfast. We went on a little hike to snipe dales from site before setting off home. Lovely night away, we'll be back😊👍

No me gustó: Been shoe hornes on the camper van bed next to the Hubby n pooch 😴

Me gustó: We had such a lovely time staying at the George and Dragon. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and added really thoughtful extra touches. The campsite was very quiet and so clean. The toilet and showers were the nicest I’ve ever seen on a campsite, not only spotlessly clean but also so well thought out with hygiene products in there to use if needed. We had drinks and a meal in the pub, the food was absolutely delicious and the waiting staff so friendly and attentive. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you ☺️ we will definitely return.

Me gustó: Another great stay at the George and Dragon. Always a warm welcome from the hosts, great food in the pub, and perfect location for exploring the wolds and coast. Absolute gem of a pitch up and pub site.

Me gustó: Shower and toilet unit was immaculately clean and up to date. Waste disposal,washing up sink and clean water tap available. Staff at the pub were very helpful and welcoming and the food was great.

Me gustó: A great site at the back of the pub with a small number of pitches all grass with ehu. Flat and level with direct access to the pub garden. There is a separate amenity block with two lovely unisex bathrooms with a loo, basin and shower. Showers are continuous with loads of hot water and no button pressing! There is also an ELSON point, washing up area as part of this. The landlord was very laid back and welcoming and the beer and food in the pub very good. Walks direct from site to local village and nearby country park and a great location for getting to local towns and the coast.

No me gustó: We stayed for three nights and in that time the bathrooms weren’t cleaned. We were the only people there for two of the three nights we were there, so not a big issue but would have been good if there was a mop and a loo brush and cleaner so it could be in some way ‘self’ maintained. The doors on the bathrooms also need looking at as they were hard to close and lock. There was also a bit of traffic noise from the road but that didn’t bother us.
