Me gustó: Perfectly placed for visiting the Red Kite feeding station at Gigrin Farm in Rhayader as well as the Elan Valley. Showers & toilets were spotlessly clean with hot water & heated towel rails. The site consists of Lodges, Glamping tents & a camping field. The Lodges have been built sympathetically & blend in much better than the usual static mobile homes that stick out like a sore thumb. There also seems to be an ongoing project of tree planting around the edge of the camping field which will look lovely in a couple of years time when they have had time to settle in. They already look great. It would be nice to see a second shower/ WC block maybe a bit closer to the camping field or at least a gate in the fence a bit closer to the existing one but as it stands that isn't a major issue. I was there for five nights & there was only one other camper there so maybe the number of users dosen't warrant it? Some form of rubbish bins (or preferably recycling fascilities) would also be useful. It is obvious that work is continuing on the site so maybe these things are in the pipeline. Some reviews mentioned the "parcels" left by the sheep which were in evidence but that is easily sorted by going armed with a small garden trowel to flick them out of the way before pitching your tent (also handy for slicing the top off the odd thistle that the sheep haven't eaten). Remember you are camping in a field. If you want a carpet, get a room. For me as a single traveller & with limited camping experience, it had everything I needed, particulary peace & quiet.

Me gustó: Very nice site. Well maintained. Well thought out. Owners have done a great job. The camping field is past all the cabins. Good size. Don’t think you will ever be on top of other campers. One side is by a stream which is nice. Grass is not cut but left for the sheep to maintain which was fine for me. Owners seem to take note of the reviews as they have built a small hut with sink and water. Toilets and showers really nice. Heated and clean. Couple of mins walk which was not a problem. The best value for money basic camping site I have stayed at.

No me gustó: Alot of sheep droppings to navigate (minor). Directions and pointer on map could be more accurate. Drove up and down the lane couple of times. Only half mile at most from main road. Frosty reception from owner when I went to pay in the morning before leaving (as agreed by phone the day before). May be it was the fact I was on a motorcycle.

Me gustó: Great location, quiet, clean facilities

No me gustó: Grass in camping field was quite long, if there's a morning dew expect to get very wet.

Me gustó: Clean, neat and tidy. Level pitches. Good facilities.

No me gustó: I was camping in a field with sheep. They were in lush grass and so was I. Sheep do what they have to do so selecting a bit of clean ground was essential. Nowhere evident to leave rubbish. In a car this would not be a problem but for a cycle camper it was awkward.

Me gustó: Second time we have camped at Cae Llwyn Camping. Enjoyed it that much last year we came back this year. Field is nice and big, amenities are kept clean and everyone we met was lovely.

Me gustó: Pictures don’t do this site justice. Very clean modern site with excellent clean showers /toilets. Local shops within 5 min drive.

No me gustó: Could do with more bins. Grass on camping area was long and found it difficult to pitch tent.

Me gustó: Lovely location. Very clean facilities. Great dark sky. Milky Way clearly visible.
