A aimé : The setting was brilliant, we felt like we were on a farm which was great for the young children staying with us. The animals were adorable! Plenty of places for children to explore. The staff were friendly and helpful. The camping areas were ideal, we had enough space and views of the woods and surrounding fields. There were hand washing stations dotted around. Very reasonable priced!
N'a pas aimé: The toilet/ shower block is very simple and not that clean. It’s best to take your own toilet paper with you and perhaps some antibacterial wipes. You can hear the planes but it’s not too disruptive.

A aimé : Daisy’s farm is a very relaxed and peaceful site. Having the animals around was a nice bonus. The pitch is basic but perfect. There are water points everywhere and the toilets were in a decent state. The farmers are very friendly and helpful as well. I really enjoyed my time at the farm and will definitely visit again.

A aimé : Being a working farm with roaming animals - sheep, ducks. Petting zoo area - bottle fed kids, held chicks, rabbits. Saw a lamb being born and sheep being sheared. Park area.
N'a pas aimé: Advertised as being able to collect eggs and to milk a goat - these wasn’t available. No washing up facilities.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. As you have explained there really is a lot going on at the farm at this time of the year. Day visitors and campers alike all get the chance to hold chicks/ducklings, cuddle kids and bottle fed lambs currently. Unfortunately there just us not time in the day to schedule in egg collecting and goat milking at the moment, as we have live births and shearing going on, which are far more enthralling during the spring months. I’m not sure that equates to false advertising, as I’m sure it can be appreciated that everything on the farm is seasonal and subject to change daily. In response to the comment on washing up facilities. We no longer provide these and do not advertise as such. Campers previously have left a lot of mess and we were constantly getting reports of blocked sinks. We therefore took the decision to remove the sink altogether, as our staff only have so much time to be clearing up after others. Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team

A aimé : I almost didn't book to camp here after reading some of the reviews. I was left toyed thinking at £25 per night for up to 6 people was it going to be a case of "you get what you pay for?" Well in my opinion I am overjoyed that we booked. It is fantastic value for money. Yes it is basic camping, but the owners dont lead you to believe anything more. You are staying on a farm! Yes there is mud and animals. But there is also the joy of having the sheep come and sit right next to your tent. There is always something to do on this site. My sons aged 14, 8, 7 and 5 played football in the play area with two large goal posts. They enjoyed the range of animals around the site while setting up the tent. Now for the petting zoo. Which is included in your pitch price. Animal feed was cheaper than any local farms in my area. So I wasn't telling the children to limit the bag of food. The children and myself loved seeing feeding and holding the animals. People have mentioned this is a dog friendly site amd that dogs aren't allowed in the petting zoo. Which is true however we attended with out dog, amd simply left her in the tent anchored down and asked our lovely neighbours to just listen out for her. It's safe to say it caused us no problems. Lastly the staff where all fantastic, and wish people would remember this isn't a hotel. The owners are running multiple businesses, getting alot of sleepless nights with the lambing season and being attentive to guests. Yet always done so with a smile. They are busy yes, but they made sure every child felt inclusive with the animal despite how busy it was. They had time to answer questions while also keeping an eye on the animals on the maternity ward. The weather wasn't great when we stayed but it didn't stop us having a great time. There is cover around tbe petty zoo, and Ollies food hut also has a covered eating area. So when it rained we had place to get shelter and also be entertained or get a hot drink. We will 100 percent be back. The toilet facilities are basic but having flushing toilets, running water and a shower. Alongside plenty of outside taps for cleaning shoes, tap water hand washing stations that other campsite don't.
N'a pas aimé: Peoples reviews, that simply don't do justice to this place.

A aimé : Nice sized field for camping in, plenty of space from neighbours Clear directions and easy self check in Eggs, drinks, snacks etc available from the cafe on site Animals to see
N'a pas aimé: Toilets were an odd set up, very minimal light (even during the day) Slightly disappointing that it's advertised as dog friendly and lots of activities for kids, but you can't do any of the activities with a dog which was a shame.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We are sorry that once again the toilet block is a reason for complaint but there really is nothing that we can do if visitors leave lights on and drain the battery. It’s a solar system and will run out if used incorrectly, despite the multiple signs. We could install electric (500m from supply) and a new toilet block at huge expense but have taken the assumption that guests would not be happy about the price of this being reflected in their pitch fee. We will therefore urge people to fully read the listing before booking to stay with us, to avoid disappointment and come prepared for a simple flushing toilet, hot gas shower and drinking water tap. To confirm, dogs are welcome on our campsites but yes there are restrictions in the animal petting area and picnic area. The rest of the farm is available for dogs to visit and the path that leads out our back gate leads to miles of off-road footpaths. However, we do request that owners keep their dogs on leads at all times on the farm. At this time of year dog worrying can lead to abortion of unborn lambs and huge amounts of stress to new mums. Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team

A aimé : Great place for the kids to explore. Staff very welcoming and explained the rules of the site on arrival. Kids can wander the animals and fed the lambs. Peaceful nights sleep
N'a pas aimé: The camper van area was very tight. No more that 15m x 15m. Sola light for the toilet broken so need a torch even during the day. Grandson disappointed as we were advised to go to the farm at 9am to pick his own eggs. Got there on time but no one around to help out.

A aimé : This place is lovely if your main aim is to spend the time at the farm with kids. The scenery was beautiful with lots to keep the children entertained. The place was well maintained and looked after. There were nice areas for the children to explore while staying. We also liked the free roaming sheep who came to visit during our stay.
N'a pas aimé: I think it’s really important to be aware that if you are camping on the hard ground with camper vans/motor homes, you are pitched on a car park in the middle of the farm, and there is absolutely no privacy between you and those customers visiting the farm. We didn’t realise as we arrived after closing on a Friday, however when 11am rolled around we quite literally felt like part of the attraction with lots of families slowly walking past staring at us in between the pigs and the sheep, then walking through our pitch to exit the public walkway. We were not prepared for this and we felt very vulnerable with our privacy invaded. We felt misled with the description, and If we would have been made aware of the set up we would not have booked here. To not feel safe and comfortable on your pitch in our opinion is not worth the cost of the entrance to the farm. I have tried to be as fair as possible with this review, as it really is a lovely place to visit, just misleading in the advertisement for accommodating motorhomes.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We are glad you enjoyed the farm but are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the camping area. We feel that is important to mention that this weekend when you visited, there was a weather warning in place for very high winds and rain. This made accessing many of our normal pitches impossible. We did cancel several of our bookings because of this but left yours (and your friends in the other 2 motorhomes) as confirmed, as we received messages from you all upon booking, stating that you all wanted to pitch next to each other. Therefore we did not think that being in a small space would cause a problem to the group. We are sorry that you were not happy with the area that we provided. However, during the winter we are only able to use areas of hardstanding for motorhomes, as accessing the grass pitches is not possible. As soon as the weather improves, the full site will once again be open, so that people can enjoy more space and tranquillity. Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team

A aimé : We had a great stay at Daisy Mays. We camped by the trees opposite a sheep field in February. It was very muddy following a very wet few weeks, but that didn't stop us having a good time. A lovely area with a ground fire pit which we used each night to keep warm. The kids especially liked seeing all the animals and holding baby goats in the petting area. I think for the price it was ideal for a few days get away. The first 2 days we were the only people camping which I think definitely helped with the camping experience! There was a viking adventure golf 5 minutes walk from the site which we played and a nearby national trust park which we walked out dog at. Lovely location and family friendly.
N'a pas aimé: There was quite a bit of rubbish around the camping area (drinks cans, metal pegs, muddy socks, old air pump, batteries on the fire pit) all which we tidied up before pitching our tent. During the second night some people arrived late when we were sleeping and pitched a tent in the dark (making noise and using torches outside our tent) this woke us and the kids which wasn't ideal. Between them and the other 2 campervans that arrived after dark, I feel the arrival time wasn't adhered by.
