Paxton House Caravan Park

喜欢: Lovely sheltered pitches within walled garden with nice house & grounds leading to glorious R Tweed side walk (saw beavers twice). Nice little coffee shop/diner. 2 Very spacious toilet/shower rooms severely let down by stupid shower & seat layout

不喜欢: Possibly intended to be disabled friendly the shower arrangement was anything but that. Fold down seat looks dangerous with legs able to slip forward under any weight. Shower controls & head directly behind seat making regulating controls extremely difficult. Obviously whoever designed that this layout has NEVER seen a proper wet room, the seat (a safer version) & shower control should be on adjacent walls- there is so much wasted space in these 4mtr sq rooms it’s a shame nobody looked at things through the eye of even the able bodied let alone the disabled

喜欢: Peaceful, beautiful grounds to explore, river walk to Chainbridge. Only 2 toilets but v clean.

不喜欢: Heard car leaving campsite at 4am & another at 7.40am.. could hear the packing up & rolling caravan canister.. v thoughtless people.

喜欢: A beautiful campsite set in the walled garden of a stunning estate. The facilities are modern and clean. There is lots to see within the grounds and down by the river.

喜欢: Fantastic site set in a walled garden. The caravan park is within the stunning grounds of Paxton House. It has plenty of beautiful walks and amazing gardens. One of our favourite sites to visit.

不喜欢: Toilet unit needs increased in size, more facilities or split toilet from shower room would help with congestion in mornings.

喜欢: Lovely peaceful well spaced pitches. Great access to lots of days out in Northumberland. Would definitely stay again but have to use own facilities.

不喜欢: Facilities let this site down. Not clean, no hand drying facilities and locks rubbish. People getting locked in.

喜欢: We liked the Caravan Park, the ground are well looked after, the pitches are a good size with planting in between, once these grow taller, it will offer a bit more privacy. We arrived later on in the evening so just found a empty pitch and setup, we checked in at the shop the next morning. The two individual toilets/showers are spacious and functional, we didn't have to queue at any point, the big plus of staying here is access to the Paxton House grounds, they are vast and there's so much to see and do, the kids enjoyed scootering and cycling around all the paths, the dog loved it too. The adventure playground was a big hit, we didn't see anyone else using it.

不喜欢: There seemed to be a lack of a staff managing the caravan park, we didn't see anyone checking the park or the facilities, it would of been nice to speak to someone as when we pitched up, our EHU was taped shut so had to use the next door pitches, hoping that nobody would use that pitch, I mentioned it to reception but she didn't really know anything about how many pitches were booked or if we'd be asked to unplug.
