Dreaming of Paris in the springtime? Book it now!

Pool at L'Anse du Brick French holiday parcs, we are finding after rapidly adding 52 of them (et counting), are Rather Swish (non, we don’t know The French For That).

After a trade trip to la belle La Rochelle – with the Pitchup.com French speakers looking very fetching in their Pitchup.com T-shirts – we’ve been adding French sites faster than frogs’ legs to a cassoulet (oui, oui, we know frogs’ legs do not go in cassoulets, but saying so winds our French friends up something chronic. Le teehee).

Posh French lodges, five-star and luxury lodge holiday parcs, sites with holiday homes and caravans for hire are all now available to browse and book directly with us in a few clicks, as well as parcs with pitches for your tent/tourer/motorhome, first-class facilities, and sunny swimming pools that look like those of our lottery-winning dreams. We’re still drooling over the pics.

Most of our French campsites and holiday parcs already have availability for 2014– what better way to dream through a cold and rainy winter, we decree? In celebration, we’ve rounded up some top picks for Easter week, (18–25 April) breaks in la belle France:

Shepherd's hut at Domain des Monts du Mâconnais Domain des Monts du Mâconnais , Bourgogne

Saying the very name of this site makes us feel all français, even the non-français Pitchup.com speakers with l’accent terrible. Lush views, lush lodges (two with disabled access), free heated indoor pool, wifi throughout, bike and quad rental, dogs allowed (for free), campfires allowed and roomy shepherd’s huts with their own kitchenette and bathroom… très bon. And £340.46 for an Easter week lodge for up to eight people? Oui merci.

Camping l’Anse du Brick , Normandy

Yes, that's the pool in the main pic. We’ll be back in a few minutes once we’ve packed our cossies… Five-star Camping l’Anse du Brick is in Manche, on the tip of the Normandy peninsula and with direct access to a sandy beach. On site, there’s that pool, another pool indoors with sea views and hydrojets, alongside kayak and bike rental, wifi and evening entertainment in July and August. AND A BOUNCY CASTLE.

The spacious electric pitches here are shaded by trees and shrubs and start from £152.74 for two adults over Easter week. AND THERE’S A BOUNCY CASTLE.

Inside a yurt at Village Insolite Village Insolite , Brittany

Ah, Bretagne. With St Malo and Dinan and Rennes and rather special cider (and galettes for the morning after. Oh the fond and sore-headed memories). Village Insolite is a small yurt site for the quietly inclined, with no pool, bar or evening entertainment: just a family and dog-friendly place set in green countryside 500 metres from the beach. It’s also a few kilometres from Cancale, ‘capital of the oyster’, and 16km from the port of Erquy, capital of scallops. Le yum.

A yurt furnished with traditional Mongolian furniture starts from £340.47 for two people from 18—25 April, with a large yurt sleeping up to five available from £462.69.

Camping Le Ventoulou , Midi-Pyrénées

To the south! Camping Le Ventoulou has beaucoup active options around it: canoeing, climbing, caving, paragliding and diving to start you off, with more sedate summer options like flea markets and festivals. There’s loads to do on site too, including summer and evening entertainment, activities from water polo to petanque (mais oui), a kids’ club and a covered pool. It’s a very safe and enclosed site for les enfants and has a playground with trampolines. Something quieter? The site has a library, foreign newspapers for sale in summer, wifi and sells bread and pastries.

A two-bedroom holiday home for Easter week starts from £378.84, with electric grass pitches also available from £116.13.

Pool at l'Hermitage Camping l’Hermitage des 4 Saisons , Aquitaine

Another pool to drool over (not literally, they frown on that). Camping l’Hermitage des 4 Saisons is a peaceful countryside site in the south-west, and has a Jacuzzi on site as well as breakfast delivered to your door. We’ll say/shout that once more : a Jacuzzi on site as well as breakfast delivered to your door . And there are pony rides. And they have barbecues and foodie nights in high season. Le sigh.

Book a two-bedroom lodge at l’Hermitage for a très reasonable £253.16 for the week for four people (the lodge can also sleep four from £350.94).

If you’re not able to get away for Easter week, or you are and want yet another break (felicitations), most of our French sites are available to book now for the rest of spring and summer, with many also available for next autumn.

Par exemple, you could have at it for a week over the May bank holiday from 2–9 May , to bring over some of the best British May Day traditions (or, y’know, just cry at Les Mis again):

Camping Le Kergariou : Electric grass pitches from £73.36 for two adults and two-bedroom holiday homes from £268.87 for up to four.

Long break for summer half-term holiday, 24—31 May ? We’re peased to suggest a pod (on stilts) at Camping la Kilienne in Pas-de-Calais, from just £134.47 for the week for two adults.

Or sing like Cliff Richard and book your summer holiday now for maximum smugness among colleagues: add your holiday dates and filter your search according to location, price, accommodation type, facilities and beaucoup more. C’est simple!

Aussi, since starting to write this, our campsites in France have gone up to 54. What’s French for ‘smug’…?
