It’s party night pretty much every night in this part of Pag on Croatia's Dalmatia coast. And you’ll be in a prime position to get to the centre of the action at Noa Glamping Resort – it’s a short stroll from the site to Zrće beach’s six clubs (and they’re not just any random old clubs but ones that regularly feature in lists of the world’s top 30…). Those in the know about such things will no doubt already have twigged that the resort is linked to Noa Beach Club, which stretches out over the sea just a minute’s walk from its sister glamping site. The beach too is a very short stroll away, and flanked by a cluster of bars and restaurants. If you feel that a bit more activity might help you power through the post-party head fog, have a crack at wakeboarding from one of the watersports centre on the beach, or cross the island (not as daunting as it sounds – it’s half an hour away on foot) to tackle the madcap course across the floating obstacles in the sea. And if that sounds like distinctly too much to contemplate, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t just stay holed up in your smart straw bale villa, snoozing in air-conditioned comfort or taking dips in your private plunge pool. Each one also has a swish bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking up meals or stashing away cool drinks (supplies available at the supermarket a couple of minutes’ walk away).

Naturally it’s likely that much your focus will be on nights out around Zrće beach – but it’s worth saving a bit of energy for daytime outings too, for Pag is a very pretty place to spend a bit of time. Once you’ve washed away the effects of the previous night at Aquapark Novalja Gajac (five minutes’ drive), set out to see some of the island’s other beaches – watersports-packed Planjka (10 minutes) and peaceful Ručica (25 minutes) are popular picks, while those whose skimpy outfits demand a lack of tan lines might want to head to the naturist area at Sveti Duh (10 minutes). Pag town (20 minutes) is the place to go if you want to get further acquainted with the coastline – round-island boat tours leave from the harbour here, as do scuba diving expeditions. Guided hikes and mountain bike outings also head out from the town, and it’s got a little lace museum to explore if you just need a little breather from all the full-on activity.
