Disliked: Loud music from neighbouring field lasting into the early hours of the morning. Quite busy/ packed together.

From the manager: Hi Thankyou for your review. Unfortunately there was an illegal rave going off nearby which was totally out of our control, and would have thought Derbyshire Police would have sorted it out but sadly not ! We use open fields and we were not full this weekend there was loads of room and not packed together infact the bottom field was very empty, loads of space !
Excellent site, clean facilities and friendly staff

Liked: Our first time staying at middlehills farm campsite and was not disappointed. • From arrival to departure the staff were so friendly and helpful. •The toilets and shower facilities were very clean with regular cleaning throughout the day. There was also a fridge/ freezer on site which is a nice idea, we didn’t use this though. •The park for the children is great and was lovely to see all the children loving it. • The on-site shop was fully stocked, with local sourced options. With bits of everything you could need, we particularly enjoyed hiring the fire pits where they also sell starter fire packs, this was a lovely experience for us/my daughter who says this was her favourite part about her weekend! The food van that came was a nice touch with an ice cream van also visiting! Local shops are only a 10 minute drive away too. • We stayed without an EHU and we enjoyed being able to pick our own spot! And despite being busy there was plenty of spaces. • Very dog friendly, we took our 3 dogs with us who were happily welcomed. • We visited Ladybower reservoir and Derwent Dam - 1 hour from the campsite and Dovedale stepping stones and Ilam country park- just 25 minutes from the campsite. • Amazing views with local farm animals, including cows, sheep, horses and the on-site pigs and chickens! Who are very friendly and enjoy all the attention they get.
Disliked: Nothing we didn’t personally like.. On friday night into Saturday , you could noticeably hear the Quarry working. This didn’t bother us but I could understand it may bother some people.

Liked: ilities were clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The attitude of a member of staff who spoke to my autistic husband so rudely! Our dog had escaped the tent, which was obviously unintentional, and scared us too! But the attitude my husband was spoken to was not at all helpful. He was obviously upset the dog had got out himself.

From the manager: Thankyou for your harsh review. We have constantly this season had people not listening to the rules and allowing their dogs off leads which causes upset for other dog owners and other campers especially when they crap in the field, and also chase my chickens, so I would hope you understand our frustration when your dog was also seen running free, but disagree he was harshly spoken too, and no need to play the autistic card thankyou.
Brilliant site for kids, with clean facilities.
