Non-electric grass pitch (added by manager 01 jul 2021)
Campervan setup (added by manager 01 jul 2021)

  • Simple pitches at a Lincolnshire farm five minutes’ drive from Wragby
  • A 10-minute walk from a nature reserve and swimming/watersports lake
  • Woodland views; 15 minutes’ drive from the Lincolnshire Wolds
A little walk in the Lincolnshire Wolds, followed by an open-water swim or paddleboarding at neighbouring Ocean Walker Academy (addtional charge for the latter two)? If that sounds like a pretty fine way to spend a day, plot a course to Forest View Camping, in the Lincolnshire countryside five minutes’ drive from Wragby and 20 minutes from Market Rasen. The views and vibe here are mighty peaceful, as the site looks out over farmland and the next-door woodland (part of the Bardney Limewoods National Nature Reserve). The surrounding area, though, is packed with things to do: for starters, a 10-minute walk will get you to Chambers Farm Woods for woodland walks, picnic spots and a butterfly garden. Other days out? Well, it’ll take you about 15 minutes in the car to get to the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a stroll or to meet the residents of the Wolds Wildlife Park. The centre of Lincoln is about 25 minutes away for city wanders, and Skegness 45 minutes for a bit of beach time. Back at base, it’s a fairly simple setup that’s been designed to integrate well with its setting on a family-run working farm. Pitches are flat and well maintained, and have access to modern toilet and shower facilities.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Short grass, pretty level pitches Not too busy on a may bank holiday weekend The lady cleaning the facilities was friendly and thorough Recycling of bottles and cans Fitepits £15 and came with enough wood for both nights and delivered to the tent Friendly owner who also said there was no rush to leave on the Monday morning Parking next to pitch Safe for kids to play in the camping field as fenced off from the quiet road and only the campers cars coming and going Plenty of birds around, even an owl over the next field during the evening

Disliked: Nothing but a couple of improvements would be A toilet roll holder in the smaller toilet A squeegee or something for campers to sweep the grass away in the toilets between cleans Instructions sign on arrival about Fitepits, pitches etc

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: This is a very tidy and peaceful small campsite. It is easy to find, access is good, and the pitches are fairly level. The toilets and shower were modern, clean and tidy, although there was only one toilet cubicle and one toilet & shower cubicle available while we were there. The shower costs £2, using an honesty box. There is also an indoor washing-up area. The hot water at that sink only worked intermittently, but it was good enough for what we needed. There are a couple of picnic benches for campers to use. There are some nice walks through the nearby Chambers Farm Wood. Lincoln is about half an hour's drive away.

Disliked: Nothing!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Nice and quiet (apart from the 🦚 &🦉). Served it's purpose for my visit. (Didn't try the WiFi, so couldn't give an honest ⭐ review.)

Disliked: Nothing. Basic, but that's all I needed for one night.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Large self contained shower/toilet module. Level grass pitch. Excellent views. Dark night skies. Close to woodlands. Short drive to Wragby.

Disliked: No gate or reception, a sign said to self choose a numbered pitch but there were no numbers visible.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for the 10/10 review and for leaving us some feedback. We do have gates to the site but they remain open for ease of access to the site. We do admit that the pitch numbers have been the victim of our poor weather this winter and they are on the "to-do" list to replace these for this summer season. Many thanks for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon. FVC

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: I would definitely recommend this lovely site for the following reasons: Quietness, tranquility. Ease of access to it. Friendly helpful hosts Unfussy and relaxed. Beautiful environment. The region is bursting with history and there is a great deal to do should you wish to do so. Plus if you happen to get a clear night sky at the time of your stay, you will be treated to a fantastic display of stars, like we were ( low level of light pollution)! Also an abundance of wildlife to see.

Disliked: Can't think of anything
