  • Small and serene family-run site with scenic fishing lakes
  • A 10-minute drive from Retford and 15 minutes from Worksop
  • Play area, wifi, shop and café; angling and barbecues permitted
Tote your caravan along to the small and secluded family-run site at Torworth Grange Farm and settle down at a spacious pitch overlooking a selection of lush fishing lakes. Another plus for this park? The location. Close to some of Nottinghamshire’s most-visited attractions, it’s a fab base for touring National Trust sites, historic market towns and kids’ adventure centres. Have a chat with the team about the main spots to visit – the staff here have all sorts of smashing suggestions up their sleeves. You could also ask them about places to eat, but don’t be surprised if they recommend the on-site café, which serves up mouth-watering grub including breakfasts and cakes. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop for grabbing ingredients – think artisan bread, in-season fruit and veg, and locally sourced meat – particularly handy if you’ll be making the most of the fact barbecues are allowed. Fishing is also permitted at this park, so anglers can sit down at purpose-built pegs and have a go at reeling in a variety of carp such as tench, barbel, koi, rudd, roach and orfe. Catch one of the biggest specimens and an award comes in the form of an edible treat. All sorts of caravanning preferences are catered for at this park as a handful of the pitches are enclosed hardstanding options with electric hook-ups, water and waste, while a further few are on grass with electricity and water. Kids have a playground to check out, and wifi is available as well. Please note there's only one toilet and shower on site, so bear this in mind when booking.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Small site lovely farm shop with a restaurant that does a lovely breakfast. The staff were young but very polite and helpful

Disliked: Only 1 shower and toilet and you have to walk through two lakes either side which is not nice in the dark. The path is just grass so with it raining it was very slippy and muddy. The hard standing pitches were not the best they really could do with updating

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Liked the cafe and shop

Disliked: Had phone call on the day to cancel us due to rain and pitch being water logged. They offered to reschedule us, we were unable to so asked for a refund. I was told no as their policy is 'I cannot cancel within 14 days' I explained I'm not cancelling, they are cancelling me but they were adamant. Asked to speak with a manager who said they wasn't cancelling us just moving us to another pitch that was dry, great holiday back on. We arrived all staff had gone, which was fine we had the gate code. My husband nearly broke his hand trying to open the gate latch. We went to our pitch and the caravan park was empty, clearly they had cancelled everyone. We spent the night on a dark campsite with no one around. No lights work around the camp. We were parked next to the lake so we had nothing but flies in the van. The caravan site is open to the public so just had random people walking around. Nothing to stop any vans from being taken out if you leave camp. We were there for 3 days and not 1 member of staff spoke to us or checked if everything was OK considering we never checked in on the day we arrived. No WiFi 1 shower and toilet Busy road next to site

From the manager: Hello Sarah, Thank you for the above. As i said to you on the phone you were not cancelled you were led to believe that is what a staff member said we have everyone the option given the extreme circumstances to change date which we didn’t have to do but we did. I then called you and spoke to you explained your pitch was wet as you would expect when it rains but it wasn’t water logged which some were so you were of course welcome to come as your pitch wasn’t affected and the waterlogged pitches were not booked anyway. Other caravaners took the option to change date. However above it stated you were the only one which you were not. Not only was our chef on-site just behind you in a caravan but there were 3 other bookings who also arrived. With regards to being next to the lake that is advertised and the flies well it’s nothing we are doing to create flies it’s nature and weather. I also sent you pictures of your pitch to ease your mind so you could see it was in good condition for the weather. You didn’t respond to these but they were sent. The gate had been damaged by the wind on Friday which was sorted on the Monday by our handy man. Wi-Fi is there and the code is on the email attachment you were sent. Along with all contact numbers to call should you need us. 1 toilet and 1 shower is advertised you have your own on board facilities also. As you were arriving out of hours and were contacted with gate code that is you checked in. The cafe and farm shop is open 9-4 for you to go see any number of our numerous staff. We are looking at security gates but they are a huge outlay for a small site and there are two coded gates to enter we have cctv. Not to mention your hitch lock and wheel locks I’m assuming would be in place. To my knowledge you didn’t go to the staff to mention any issues as above, not to mention you had all our contact numbers. Thanks for your message.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Water tap on each pitch, clean site, nice cafe good park for the kids

Disliked: Only one shower and toilet, with bringing 2 kids this wasnt really ideal as we was all quing. No lighting around the site at night, website is massively out of date in regards to fishing. It appears like the owner concentrates more on the cafe side of the site rather than the pitches and lakes.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Nice compact site we will likely use a lot as its close to get away on a Friday afternoon for a weekend. Nice farm shop/eatery on site and a number of small fishing ponds. Close to Blyth which has a few nice pubs.

Disliked: Nothing, everything worked for a chilled out camp in your van weekend with few distractions.

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked: Me and my son really enjoyed our stay. It had what was needed for our fishing weekend. Very clean facilities and a very nice café/ restaurant area with some delicious home made sausage rolls, pork pies etc. The fishing ponds were great fun for our little competition between us with some beautiful Carp swimming around. I even netted one myself. We would definitely come back again.
