Liked: Excellent location, great local pub (Brasenose Arms) within 20 minute walk along the canal. Lots of activities to keep children busy, shop and hot food available. Friendly staff doing their best and facilities generally clean given high footfall.
Disliked: For the number of pitches, there are a serious lack of facilities. Only 4 female toilets in the main area and 4 communal showers (1 had no lock, another no hook) and the water fluctuated between scolding hot and cold. There was another toilet block at the bottom of the field but they were in need of modernisation and the only access is across the field which was muddy and rutted from vehicles. More gravel paths needed to access facilities. Another shower block is being built but even then, the facilities will still not be adequate. The shop closed earlier than advertised the first night and food was not available to the time stated.

From the manager: We respect your opinion regarding our facilities, however just to clarify just the main toilets are over the required number required for the number of pitches. When you add the extra 9 unisex toilets plus 9 urinals we go above and beyond. Our current 5 showers are the standard required amount, however we are adding another block to again offer more than required. Regarding the field being muddy, what campsite did you stay with, not us obviously. Immaculate grass all over after the mass exodus today. I’m sorry 9pm for a campsite shop was too early. However any later then it simply becomes unprofitable.
Lovely site with play area for the kids, food and fresh air!

Liked: Great family/friendly/relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space even though it was busy over the Bank Holiday. Loved the pygmy goats, birds and falconery on site. The two bouncy castles were a bonus for keeping the children entertained. Take away food was yummy. Site owners were very accommodating and helpful.

Liked: Facilities for kids were amazing, they loved it, we pitched right near the play park and bouncy castle so we could watch them play, the animals were a massive bonus and the food (burgers and chips and hotdogs) in the evening was great quality, we will definitely come back next year!! Location great, near a lovely village with two pubs
Disliked: The queue for the shower! And it was all clogged up with grass and there was nowhere private to get dressed after as it was unisex so you had to get changed in a soaking shower cubicle. But I believe they have a new shower block opening soon so that will solved that issue
