Electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch

Liked: Sign on the wall says ladybirth cottage just so you know you are in the right place.. On arrival we had a nice welcome from Sue, who showed me around. Everythings there that you need for a chilled out relax which is exactly what we were after. Almost totally level pitch (3), We just needed to put the one side on the bottom of the ramps to make it perfect but to be honest.. i could have just left alone. Clean showers and toilets. There is also a drive over motorhome drain down area but we just used the wastemaster to save us time when leaving. When we arrived we were given a choice of plots but i would assume if you contact them directly you could reserve your plot especially if you have a longer vehicle.. which we would probably do next time we visit. There is gravel everywhere so you can avoid muddy feet if it rains. Plenty of trees to hide out of the sun on hotter days and the area is teaming with birds (who are constantly singing away), The lane is a little narrow but I managed to get a 7.5m 4 berth motorhome down it.. and there was a 20seater converted coach there when I arrived.. so as you can tell it's plenty big enough.. Although we didn't use it the games room is a nice touch and there are some take away leaflets if you don't want to cook and they deliver to the gate. Especially liked that Sue popped over the next morning to check we were ok and if there was anything we needed, We always like to take a walk about, and she told us of a walk we could take. We really enjoyed our stay and we'll be adding the site to our small list of places to revisit.

Electric grass and gravel motorhome pitch

Liked: Great site, lovely welcome, not too many pitches, easy access to facilities, close proximity to town centre, great setting. Hot showers.

Disliked: There were some signs on the facilities which were a little unwarranted in their language. I spent 15 minutes cleaning out the detritus from one of the showers that didn't look like it had been cleaned for some time

Local attractions

Get your pedal on, because there are cycle-easy spots in Cannock Chase Forest (35 minutes’ drive). Whether you’ve got your own bicycle or you’re making use of the bike hire there, you’ll have your pick of leisurely forest routes and slightly madder mountain biking courses for those of you who are more seasoned. Plus, you’ll also have the choice to take to the treetops on the Go Ape courses, in real monkey style. While animals are on your brain, Amerton Farm (25 minutes) will bring you right up close, as the farm runs alpaca and reindeer experiences. Other businesses call the site home and that includes a pottery studio and yoga studio. Along similar lines, Stafford Showground (20 minutes) is a multi-purpose venue that will surely get the party going with events throughout the year. Two top spots to keep up the pace are Drayton Manor Theme Park (half an hour) and Alton Towers (50 minutes), and those of you are craving somewhere a little more regal to wind down after all the thrills of the rides may find just the place in Shugborough Hall (25 minutes), a Georgian mansion house and walled garden.
