Sandfield House Farm Caravan Park is a popular and award winning, five-star rated holiday park a short distance outside the popular seaside town of Whitby and within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The park is just a quarter of a mile from the nearest beach, and many of the 50 touring and motorhome pitches at Sandfield House Farm offer breathtaking sea views. All of the pitches stand on level ground and are hard standing offering electric hook-ups. Family pets are welcome to come and stay at the park but it is requested that they are kept on a lead at all times when outside, and there is a fenced exercise area where dogs can be walked. There is an additional collection of facilities on the site to ensure guests enjoy the maximum level of comfort and convenience during their stay. These include a shower block, washbasins, toilets, washing up room and a laundry room. Chemical waste disposal is available on the site, while Calor gas and basic caravan consumables are stocked in reception. Parents and grand parents looking to keep younger ones entertained or indulge in some sporting activities themselves can enjoy the children’s play field, which features a football goal as well as offering plenty of space to run around in, and the on-site tennis court. Additional facilities close to the site include local shops, with a supermarket open until 10pm nightly, as well as a petrol station with cash machine, and food outlets selling Chinese takeaway, fish and chips, and pizza. Heading into Whitby is easy; the town is a short walk towards the beach and a scenic stroll along the promenade, while at the opposite end of the beach guests will find the charming village of Sandsend, which has a welcoming pub serving great tasting food and local ales. One of the main attractions of Sandfield House Farm Caravan Park is the site’s close proximity to so many places to see in the area. Guests can take the North York Moors Steam Railway from Grosmont, a short distance away from the park, while the National Park visitor centre can be found in Danby and is brilliant for discovering organised pursuits on the moors or for getting inspired to do your own thing. In and around Whitby itself guests will find Whitby Abbey, The Captain Cook Museum, The Dracula Experience, and Pannett Park. The Mini Monsters children’s indoor play centre is also close by for the days when the weather isn’t great. Further afield, guests can always find something to entertain them. A short drive north takes you to the Cleveland towns of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, and Stockton-on-Tees, while the famous cathedral city of Durham is also a relatively short drive away should you wish to visit. All are great places for shopping and culture, while Durham’s cathedral is one of the most famous in the UK. To the south, guests have the option of exploring the coast as much as they like, with Filey, Bridlington, and Scarborough all easy to get to via a pleasant, scenic drive.
