Looking to get away on a West Yorkshire break with a gang of your best pals? Glorious Glamping at Fairmead Farm has got this covered, because here you can stay in a circus-themed campsite in two camping areas – and get fabulous views over Wharfedale to boot. How does it work? Well, the site provides a fun and sociable glamping experience, with on-site showers and loos, and plenty of parking close by. Pre-erected, fully furnished bell tents also mean you can get down to some serious partying straight away without having to put your tent up. There’s a massive party barn on site, open between 9am–11pm and providing a lively, colourful indoor venue for you all to get together – as well as shelter from any bad weather (this being Yorkshire and all). You’re welcome to take your own food and drink to tuck into around your tents, and there’s also an on-site bar serving hot and cold drinks from a converted horsebox right next to the barn. Glorious Glamping has a handy location to the north of the main A658 road between Bradford (25 minutes’ drive) and Harrogate (20 minutes), and is right in the middle of the Yorkshire ‘Golden Triangle’. It’s within easy reach of the A1M, York (50 minutes) and Leeds (25 minutes) too, making this spot handy for a rural getaway and festival fun.

Local attractions

For a break from non-stop partying, Harewood House (15 minutes’ drive) has a network of footpaths across the estate as well as guided tours of decorative-arts treasure in the house itself. There are lovely wooded walks in Otley Chevin Forest Park (five minutes), or you can blow any lingering cobwebs away with a hike up to Almscliffe Crag (10 minutes, you can see it from the glamping site) for views across the Yorkshire Dales. To explore the Dales themselves, head to the spectacular ruins of Bolton Abbey and take the stepping stones across the River Wharfe. Neary you can jump on the steam train at Bolton Abbey Station (both half an hour) and chug slowly through green landscapes to the soft-stone village of Embsay. If you’re after a change of scenery in the evening, there are several welcoming pubs in Pool in Wharfedale (five minutes) and destination restaurants in Harrogate (20 minutes) as well as late-night clubs at the weekend.

Liked: What a fantastic place! We couldn't fault a thing! The glamping tents were clean and welcoming . The showers and toilets were immaculate ( loved the quirky converted horse boxes too). The party barn Was great , nothing you haven't thought of to create a really fun yet comfortable place to gather with Friends and family. We went with children's and there was lots to do . Thank you to Helen and Lisa for being the perfect hosts . Will definately come again and recommend your glorious camping site ???

Liked: EVERYTHING!!!!! fantastic hosts couldnt do enough to help you very clean tenting and bedding good selection of drinks and reasonable price at the bar toilet and shower block very clean lovely views pub nearby in local town about 15 min walk order pizzas from local town which were lovely
