  • Small family-run glamping site in Cumbria near Hadrian's Wall
  • Brampton 10 minutes' drive; Hexham 40 minutes
  • Spacious Mongolian yurts with private hot tubs; dogs allowed
These traditional Mongolian style yurts sit on a spacious 0.75-acre site surrounded by rolling Cumbrian countryside, 10 minutes' drive from the traditional market town of Brampton. With UNESCO-listed Hadrian's Wall roughly a mile away, Hadrian's Wall Country Yurts is in a top location for exploring both the landscape and its history. These glamping units are luxurious, with calm, cosy interiors kept warm by a woodburning stove. The accommodation units are set more than 30 metres apart for privacy, and each comes with its own seating area, firepit, barbecue and woodfired hot tub for relaxing under the stars… For groups, a larger communal firepit area is also available. Away from the yurts, the site has plenty of space to relax and play in. Enjoy a game of cricket or football on the field, or sit back and take in the countryside views. For outdoor leisure further afield, you could head to the south and the North Pennines, or head west for the Lake District National Park. There are free-range chickens on site. You can help yourselves to eggs in the morning – just pop through the gate and collect some for your breakfast. Please note that this site is off-grid and powered by battery packs.

The yurt (hot tub)

Liked: Beautiful grounds, Yurt nipping clean with lots of lovely little extra touches, beds very comfortable. Gorgeous outdoor kitchen with table and chairs. Cutlery, plates, tea towel, washing up liquid provided along with all of the other things you would find in your own kitchen. Cool box great and power pack kept us charged and our yurt lights working. Hot tub was lovely- we used it as a cold plunge pool when we first arrived as was a hot day then the owners helped get it toasty for everything. Compost loo is too glamorous and clean to be what you think its going to be! Fluffy towels and nice soap in there too. A fabulous time had by all, the owners simply cannot do enough to ensure this.

Disliked: Going home :-(

From the manager: Thank you Sarah for your fantastic review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in a yurt and all the facilities we have on offer. Yes, the hot tubs are great for cooling off on a hot day - before they are heated that is! I agree, compost loos can sound a bit scary but they can be made lovely too. We hope to welcome you again in the future. Best wishes Caroline and Ian
