Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Aspect of campsite, separate smaller fields with good drainage Locality in North Lakes, able to get to Lakes and the coast relatively easily and m walking distance to local pub and village
Disliked: Shower block missing a few tiles and no hand drying facilities. No staff on site yet easily contactable

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Generous sized pitches
Disliked: We booked and paid several pitches for Friday/Saturday night between us but offered to squeeze up across 3 pitches so we could camp together as we traveled as a group of friends to go hiking over the weekend. A few of us left a day early and didn't camp the Saturday night and despite us still having paid for 2 nights as soon as the tents were packed down we had 2 campervans pitch up right next to our remaining tents. The showers have plenty of hot water but are outdated. Given the amount of people on the campsite over the weekend 2 showers/2 toilets per gender isn't enough. It seems the campsite must've been overbooked for this weekend.

Liked: Whole campsite was friendly, clean and all together an amazing environment. Close to everything we needed. Showers and toilets were outstanding, and close to a beautiful river. It was my first visit at this campsite and I will definitely be returning!

Liked: It's a great location for the west if the lakes, not far from crummock, buttermere and if you need a town then Cockermouth. Friendly site and generally people seem to follow the rules and it's quiet around 10pm. Showers/toilets and plug sockets in toilet (always a bonus). Good Internet on site. (Not wifi)
Disliked: No dog walking fields nearby really (can't be helped though)

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Well organised pitch layout in cute fields with gravel areas if you are worried about your vehicle getting stuck, otherwise park up at your pitch.
Disliked: Toilet block, although quite functional (i.e. Water temperature and pressure was good), is in dire need of updating. Cobwebs and bare plasterboard covered in black spot is not really good enough this day and age. Sadly, the Lakes at Bank Holiday time is now bursting at the seams and with that come the hordes of dickheads who roll into the campsite at 11:30, pissed up, swearing and giving not the slightest toss about anyone else. This place is no exception. NOT a fault of the campsite as these morons get everywhere.
