Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Welcomed by a friendly & informative host who let us know about things to do in the area and facilities on site. Site was well maintained, there are chickens and sheep in a neighbouring field for little ones. Was a quiet site and not much noise which was great. Separate male and female showers/toilets! Definitely recommended Pictures below speak for themselves WiFi connected free of charge and phones can be charged in a little box in the corner of the campsite if needed.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Liked: Jonnty is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of ideas for walks, places to eat and drink, and things to do/see. Within close walking distance of a great pub, short drive from a spar/petrol station. Toilets well stocked and were kept clean by fellow campers. Warm showers. Large covered space to dry clothes and cook if it’s raining.
Disliked: Bring hand soap! Bring a kettle to wash your pots in warm water. Please be aware that this site is open to groups. If you’re looking for a quiet site, this might not be it. When we stayed, there were 4 large groups ranging from around 6 to 15 people. That being said, quiet after 10pm is strictly enforced so you’re not going to be let up by people playing loud music.

Liked: My second stay at this campsite and second time leaving a 5 star review. Amazing location for accessing coniston and wasdale mountains. Super clear. Toilet paper provided, washing lines for drying gear, a dry space for when it inevitably rains, fire pits and logs available. Jonty is an amazing host with great knowledge and recommendations. One of the few campsites that allow large groups. THANKS JONTY!!
Disliked: Absolutely nothing

Liked: I truly enjoyed this stay - host was very lovely and attentive - had lots of advice and suggestions about what to do in the local area. The site was clean and tidy. The views were incredible. The toilet and shower facilities were perfect and there is a space to dry clothes and wash pots. Campfires and wood are there too for a fee - I shall definitely return

Liked: Lovely little campsite! Toilets and showers clean and well maintained. Polytunnel for hanging wet stuff (handy if you’ve been hiking) If you’re looking for something simple and budget friendly this is the campsite you need! There’s also phone signal as well. Johnty couldn’t have been anymore helpful! We will definitely be returning to the lakes and staying here again.
Disliked: Nothing.
