Electric gravel touring pitch (XL)

Liked: Swimming pool, crazy golf, bar, and walks where great.

Disliked: Pitches and touring side, not good, paid for extra long pitch. But safely get our campervan on. Weeds unsafe fencing.

Electric gravel touring pitch (XL)

Liked: Blonde lady on reception really friendly and helpful, kids enjoyed swimming pool

Disliked: Site not well maintained, bathrooms dirty, covered in toilet paper, we were put in a seasonal pitch because apparently pitch up had overbooked them. This was a field just off site, with a derelict van in, was overgrown and we had to trek down a hill into the main site to the nearest toilet block, which during the night, the path wasn't lit, and was slippy. I have issues with my knee and being this far away from any facilities wasn't ideal . Also no onsite shop as advertised, there is also no cafe so have to go off site for everything.

Electric gravel touring pitch (XL)

Liked: Not a lot too like TBH, site has degenerated since our last visit a couple of years ago.

Disliked: Pitches are too close together. Greg water waste used as a toilet dump on two occasions over the weekend. Access road is terrible with lots of potholes. Entertainment team were useless, couldn’t organise a good session in a brewery. Toilet block could be cleaner. Management team took 3 turns to site me on the XL pitch that I paid for.

Disliked: Toilet blocks were not clean and waste out in wrong place. Very noisy at night, not food at pub and no wifi.

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked: The view (can’t be seen from caravan) Local village with shops 5 minute drive away.

Disliked: Small cramped pitches, some caravans were too long for pitches (not the owners fault, just very small pitches) very dark at night, pot holes on the small narrow road to touring pitches, bins over flowing, toilet block was run down, dirty and could do with updating (although the actual shower had good pressure and one set temperature) didn’t see any workers apart from in the bar/reception, not a lot to do near by, loud music from other caravans till late (after 10) with no security/staff to address situations like this so felt like a free for all party. Quite disappointing for the price paid for this site, can get a lot better for your money.

Electric gravel touring pitch (XL)

Liked: Second time at beacon fell and won't be our last we love it! Kids have a ball here. So much is included for free - indoor heated swimming, free pool table, free soft play, outdoor park. Staff work really hard and long hours and are always happy to help! We will definately be returning. Doesn't look like they do have the shop anymore but there is a cafe comming soon... and most take out places will deliver... they just meet u at the barrier... pub 5 mins away dog inn does lovely food and a chippy not to far away either.

Disliked: Not so much a dislike but definately need to hire more staff. Some members are responsible for 4 jobs all in one day which isn't fair.

Local attractions

Beacon Hill Country Park and the Forest of Bowland are mere minutes away by car and both have miles of walking routes across a range of landscapes including woodland, hills and farmland. Climb to the top of Beacon Hill to see landmarks in all directions including Belvoir Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and the hills of the Peak District. Said to be the inspiration for Tolkien’s Middle Earth (which might make you want to furry foot it there immediately), the Ribble Valley has the 70-mile path the Ribble Way, shopping in towns such as Clitheroe or munching one’s way around the Ribble Valley Food Trail. The River Ribble is a big hook for anglers landing chub, barbel, trout and salmon. City day trips are in all directions too: the kids’ eyes will light up with a trip to Blackpool… and for shopping, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool One of Manchester and Liverpool respectively should empty your wallet nicely…
